After working at Anejo Banff for 5 months, I have seen this place burn through many staff. The opening bar team has all but quit or been fired, which is a shame as the good culture has gone with it. 

A very corporate environment also sees management make decisions that are not based upon workers wellbeing or happiness. There seems to be a significant lack of communication between staff and management.



typical day was coming in at 3 helping finishing up any prep that was left or getting any of the taco meats trimmed of fat and cut up and put in over night. then would come the rush from about 6-7:30 monday - thursday, and sunday and then friday and saturday was busy from 6-9:30 so it was essential to make sure all prep was done on time.

Terribly small, cramped, hot kitchen with a chef with an attitude and an ego complex who acts like a complete fool and makes life unnecessarily difficult with little compensation 

Worked here for a bit and it was always changing if it was nice to work here or not. The gm was wishy washy and condescending. Showed very little respect for the staff and didn’t care to show up to work sometimes. I know they have a new manager now so maybe it’s different. 

Unless you're dead broke avoid this job. You're underpaid an appreciated. It provides nothing to learn an the manager provides no consistency.

Coworkers aren't the problem.

You’re dealing with lots of cheap crowd so you have to be mentally prepared for going to a war for almost every shift especially if it’s on a Friday, Saturday. Pay could be better but it’s not worst

Anejo is a very fast paced kitchen with a diverse menu, and it is essential to have a strong work ethic and willingness to learn. 

The staff are amazing and the food program is very impressive.

Great place to work, management is there for you, reach out if you need anything, and always cover your bases when making mistakes. Worst part of the job is the customers on King Street.

amazing management team with a great staff that is super fun to work with. as a server, it's a pretty straight forward menu and very easy to learn. in the heart of downtown and a great crowd to serve, too.

Above average pay for hosts
Most workers are nice but tensions can run high when it gets busier
Decent management
can get a bit chaotic due to the location
