At my location training was very minimal, we would watch videos then be expected to know everything that has to be done with almost no hands on training. The job itself was easy, fast paced and somewhat enjoyable as for the management, they were the hardest part of the job. They wouldn't go about heath and safety regulations as a company should, I myself have had to perform multiple tasks that i felt uncomfortable with or unsafe doing. On top of that no one was trained properly so the kitchen would be filthy, day dots would be all wrong. The management itself has a small group of workers that have been there a substantial amount of time that they're extremely close with (a group on teenagers) who they ultimately let make decisions on how new workers are doing and such. The problem i had with this was that there were a lot of young people in the area applying to chuck e cheese and say if one of the workers went to school with someone applying for the job they'd tell management they don't want them hired and its done. I've seen multiple good workers fired because of personal opinions of them outside of the workplace. Management is also very aggressive especially towards the younger workers, yelling, swearing. They enjoyed "scaring" workers when they thought they weren't doing a great job by yelling and threatening their jobs. For my own personal experience, i felt that i was being mistreated by management so i approached one of my favorite managers addressing my issues which she responded to with yelling, swearing and telling me i am a terrible worker, At this point i was a trainer in the kitchen making me and one other guy the top two in the kitchen. After this i contacted her letting her know i wouldn't be returning to work due to the mistreatment which again she responded to with yelling and vulgar remarks. I let her know i would be returning to pick up my check on payday (note i live across the street and they never got my direct deposit done after months of asking so i would have to go pick up the check myself) I went to pick up my check and they wouldn't let me come to the back and pick it up, they said they were going to mail it out to me within the next few weeks. After letting them know payday was my birthday as well as the day we pay bills, they purposely went and mailed it out when i live less than a 5 minute walk away. This is the most unprofessional, unpleasant workplace I've ever worked at, hopefully management will get better.

not worth. stayed for the people but theres cliques, ive seen so many people leave and come. they say its fun but in reality its not, they excite you with all these perks but its lies. its all just a big scheme to contribute to big corp, they care so much about sales that if you dont make enough theyll send you home. co workers will make the shift feel so much lighter, but managers tend to forget the pressure of what we go through. some managers are nicer than the others and the others might be energy vampires, giving you unnecessary pressure. people here think too much and put a lot of pressure when it shouldnt be. NO RAISES!! ive been here for so long and never got a raise, they have an employee of the month, but its only 20 dollars for what? they have favouritism, the big man tends to like whites and men, they only tried to promote the white people, while there were other who were far more qualified. if you want days off, goodluck. be prepared to have a big reason to why youre booking it off, calling in sick? theyll assume you're fake sick and cut your hours. the food is nasty, they also throw and waste so much food, THEY DONT CARE ABOUT THE ENVIRONMENT ONE BIT. THEY HAVE NO INTEREST IN CARING FOR FOOD WASTE. they use styrofoam containers and always put a plastic knife under the pizza when its not necessary. so many unnecessary things that shouldnt be a thing. not worth especially as a minimum paying job.  if you like corporations and being manipulative towards people, getting criticized for booking days off or calling in sick, dealing with parents while getting hate from your managers, then this minimum paying job is for you!! :)) also they have an annoying music playlist that changes every 3 months, so if you wanna stay and listen to the same songs every hour HAVE FUN. thank u for coming to my ted talk, save yourself. u welcome

I have left Chuck E. Cheese to work somewhere where my work ethic and well-being are more respected, and managers at Chuck E. Cheese’s continue to gossip about me to other employees. They have made completely untrue and frankly rude comments about me to employees (my friends) that still work there. I always worked hard and did the best I could with what I was provided, but was continuously called “entitled” and “unreliable” behind my back by my managers to OTHER EMPLOYEES. I did leave the store on good terms despite my true feelings towards management, and continue to be negatively talked about by mangers to other staff. Completely unprofessional and childish, considering I was 17 years old and the managers are grown adults. 

While working there, the management was always quick to gossip about other staff members, and never take accountability when confronted for it. Managers WILL pick favourites, and treat those that they find “unworthy” like absolutely garbage until they quit. Managers at Chuck E. Cheese’s often forget that they employ teenagers that may require a bit more assistance in getting use to the job, and often lash out in anger when tasks aren’t done up to par instead assisting employees in addressing the issue. 

If you are looking for a part-time job, I definitely DO NOT recommend working here. 

The moment you get there for a shift as a party server you’ll clock in and wait for your party to arrive, hopefully they’re on time but if not that’s your problem. you take their order and immediately are put to work cleaning; sweeping, wiping tables, doors, dishes and whatever else. The system here really makes no sense, you’re not a custodian but you spend half of your time cleaning. Bring food to tables, sing and dance in birthday show (which they never fully teach you so good luck) cut cake, and basically more cleaning before the very end and paying, then more cleaning. They’ll make your clock out early to cut costs and avoid paying you for time you’re scheduled for. Managers will swear at you, insult make jokes and yell at you for making mistakes. Close to nothing enjoyable about the position besides a few cool coworkers. Hardest part of the job is dealing with disrespectful guests: families, parents and children as well as even more disrespectful managers. 

Some of the managers are really nice and the co workers are awesome. I worked as a party hostess and this could be very stressful and demanding, and you never know when you're working. Every hostess is scheduled in every week for Saturday & Sunday at open, but then on Friday/ Saturday night they may cancel you, or change what time you come in at. They also have on call shifts, so party hosts literally never know how much you will be working/ when. You could end up with no hours in a week or 35 + hours. This would definitely be a good first time job for a high school student who is really flexible with hours and just looking for a little extra pocket money, but is not something that could be sustained for a long time.

don’t recommend. I thought it would be great working at chuck e cheese with coworkers my age and an overall fun environment. But the management is very poor and confusing. I never got told what time I got off work when hosting parties and it started to affect my ride arrangements. The people who work there don’t communicate with you and you constantly feel judged. If you ask a question management would say things like “you learned that the first day at your interview so you should know what to do”: Also dress code is very precise, also you have to buy all new items most likely and none of its covered by the company. Also got no breaks and would have to work past closing time. Families that come in would also cause for an exhausting day. Definitely should be getting paid for the amount of work you have to put into this job.

I have never been in a job where the general manager has cared more about making money, than the HEALTH of his employees. 

I have seen MANY employees have mental breakdowns and cry during their shift. And this is supposed to be a simple part time job that is meant for young high school students. 

Yes, you are not going to always have a job that you don't like but it's getting to the point where is it mentally, emotionally, and physically draining. 

Management makes a big difference in the work environment. Having a general manager who is barking in your ear all the time and can be verbally offensive (whether it is directly to you or talking about someone else), creates a toxic environment. 

Please don't take this job, it is very easy to get but is 100% not worth it.

I learned working here that you as long as you work hard and do what you are supposed to do you will get more hours. I as well learned that if you make yourself more available to work that eventually they will take advantage of that and will have you on call so you can't make plans that day. They as well mess up your pay checks and vacation pays and force you to wait to figure things out and end up paying you in cash from the safe, and the next pay check you get they will "give you more money than you made" so that they can put that money back into the safe. When they finally offer you a raise it would probably be a month or so until the minimum wage goes up.

Chuck e Cheese is a great environment for anyone to gain and improve their social skills. All of our jobs all day are directed at making our guests feel happy and welcomed. Even though I work in the Kitchen I still see and hear all of our guests requests or/and complaints, and we make sure that to help out in anyway as soon as possible. Management there is terrific, they are more your friends than bosses. Everyone is surrounded by the Chuck E Cheese environment and it brings out the kids in all of us. Making the pizzas and other food for parties is the most enjoyable part of my job, even though it is fast paced and you must be time efficient it is a satisfying work period that you spend with whoever is there to assist you.

I previously worked at the Chuck E. Cheese located in Whitby, Ontario. From what I have gathered, it is a failing company that strongly promotes competition amongst their workers. The management team at the Whitby location constantly books their favourite employees to work. They frequently hire new members but don't give them very many shifts. The managers gossip amongst themselves how they don't like certain employees and would often go out their way to make it seem as though they are unable to perform their duties. While working at the location in Whitby, you will find that the work environment is extremely toxic and will become mentally draining. I do not recommend you to work here but if you are desperate then it is worth giving it a shot as they do hire on the spot.
