The pay and benefits package for sure 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Basically everything about the industry can be stressful, especially when you get laid off and you go on the no work list to be hired, there’s no telling how long to could be waiting for a call back. Longest I’ve had to wait was 9 months, which is crazy considering I was sitting at the top of the list for quite some time 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Long days, lots of yelling and anger most days and heaven forbid you want a day off for something.. honestly a little like being back in highschool in a sense too with how people can be and treat others.

I have worked at the union for over 17 years, and I can safely say this is a welcoming environment with the stability to make you want to stay here for your entire career. 

The best part of my job is helping the members get to work.  I am always striving to do the very best I can for them, and they appreciate the extra effort.

The workplace is a typical office environment where you have every personality type under one roof. No different than any other office.

Our CEO is always thinking of the best interests of his staff and his members. 

If you have a great crew you'll be much less stressed. If not it can be difficult to say the least. As stated, the pay, overtime, and benefits are amazing, but the responsibility you have for the people who work below you isn't always worth it. It's a great career if can put up with it.

The politics and favouritism. They are relentless

Awful. There is zero consideration for mental well being of anyone

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Stressful. They want you to not have a life And only focus on work

I worked at Local 793 for nearly a year as a communications specialist, with my main deliverable being video content. During my time there, I enjoyed working with my peers on the team. I found the biggest issue was with how the deadlines were being handled by upper management. Breathing down your neck would be an understatement, I could visibly see my hair graying from the level stress I had to work with.

Company is venturing into F&B. But they are receptive to new ideas.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Respectful and proficient. They hire the right people.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Monday to Friday. 8am to 4pm. Great hours.

The only positive thing I can say is the benefits are great!

You work 6 months or less then your on ei for maybe 4!

Slow and usually long if you’re in the plants. Deer and watermain is fast pased

A typical day at work involved earth moving. Management was generally friendly and communicative. I learned techniques to better improve efficiency. Hardest part of the job was inconsistency of work due to weather and seasonal conditions.  the most enjoyable part of the job was being able to operate large machinery and see my accomplishments at the end of the day.

IUOE Local 793 is a great place to work. It offers both a collaborative and independent work environment which in my opinion is the best of both worlds. Management is there for support, and I also have the opportunity to brain storm and problem solve independently, and provide my input on work projects.

I would give these idiots a single dime for what they are worth. They are an absolutely useless union with all employees being the same. If they have a single brain cell between the company I would be very shocked
