I never write reviews but there are just too many haters that get let go for poor performance that want to slander the company. This company is a good place to work... if you are good at your job. The office is small, so there is no place to hide. If you try to be sneaky about making mistakes (don't blame it on your co-worker!) or you run on autopilot, this is not the place for you. We are a small group of office staff and everyone pulls their own weight. The work itself is a nice variety and you deal with contractors and clients all the time. There is a lot of training material so you don't feel lost. During the slow season you get to do other fun tasks. I would recommend the company, but hey, I'm 'biased', I didn't get fired for sucking.

Not ideal workplace within the office or as an agency staff. management in every department is unlikeable, passive aggressive nature, and not open to creative ideas. Hasn’t advanced since they have opened, as no consistent employment is offered, only two positions have stayed filled by the same people. Pay rate is not aligned to work experience or education within the office, most likely making the same as someone who’s just entering the workforce. Within the office it is a toxic environment, each department is pitted against each other, resulting in high turn over. Job security is low, 12 office staff members let go for unknown reasons. The website might say we have the largest staffing agency in the country but this is extremely inaccurate because we only staff using the same people all year round.

Cons
- Management is rude and extremely passive-aggressive
- Says $18 an hr, but expect to get pay cuts - they will find any excuse to cut your pay
- Owner and his wife run the business, you can see why management is so terrible, literally biting the hands of employees that FEEDS them
- Unorganized and messy lacks professionalism, tells you that you are not gonna get the agreed pay even though you've been working for 2 months+ 
- Talks alot of loyalty, but if you don't even honor the pay to your employees, how do you expect loyalty? 
- Sad excuse of an employer, stay away, you can find a better gig in Toronto

Pros
- Actual placed establishments are decent, full with chefs you can network with and talk about how terrible Stellar Culinary is
- You can find other chefs running their own agencies that actually pay what they say they pay, and the rate is higher than this garbage agency

got a few employment opportunities here but to be honest I would not really say that this company has enough actual job offerings to be a real “job” per say. 

the pay is good but you won’t actually get the opportunity to work very often and if you don’t have totally open availability forget being called at all. 

 When I was providing completely open availability I was offered maybe one or two jobs every 2 weeks. I accepted every one and was called back to work for the same employers a few times but that’s the main way you find work. They hire way more people than they have work to actually go around. The company will also sometimes punish you for accepting repeat work opportunities from the same employers which was again, basically the only way to come across steady work so once those opportunities dry up you’re left with nothing. 

This is a great organization for professionals in the industry looking for work. They have a lot of clients, arguably the largest companies in Canada, and you get the opportunity to work at them all. I have worked about 30 shifts and am a Sous Chef. This year is the first year I've been able to make my son's birthday. That is priceless. I would recommend this organization to a friend, to a colleague, and to anyone looking for a flexible schedule and good wages (much more than my previous salary divided by my hours!). I thank them for the opportunity and the professionalism that their organization emotes.

- If they don't like you, you will not receive jobs
- they advertised attractive pay but you will get pay cuts within weeks of starting this job, if you ask them about it, they will tell you that it was a "mistake" and try to make it seem like you're at fault
- a lot of passive-aggressiveness by management thru pay cuts, job offers and lack of communication, overall not professional at all
- they don't care about you, because they have many people working for them
- many of my coworkers also experienced pay cuts, totally illegal but a pity to even bring notice to the ministry of labour
- the only reason why i even gave it 2 stars is because the actual workplace is full of energetic people and great for networking among chefs
I would stay far away

I have been working as a Staffing Coordinator at Stellar Personnel for over a year now and it has been a great experience. The management team is supportive, understanding, and always willing to lend a hand when needed. They provide a positive work environment that encourages growth and development, and they truly care about their employee. Your hard work and dedication is always seen and awarded by the manager. Definitely not  suitable for anyone who want to cut corners to be recognized as honesty is always appreciated in this workplace. I highly recommend Stellar Personnel to anyone who is passionate about staffing and looking for a supportive work environment.

I am a worker for Stellar. My role has been as a contracted server and bartender. I have 7 years of banquet experience and was onboarded right away for work. I like the people that work in the office - they are kind and professional. The woman that did my orientation gave a lot of great detail about what the work would be like and how to accept more shifts with the company based on my schedule to work. The best part about working here is honestly being able to decline jobs when I have something going on. I didn't get this luxury at my last places of work, and I will work for this company as long as they will have me!

I've been working with Stellar Culinary Personnel since the middle of 2018 as a prep and event cook. I never worked at a staffing agency before so I didn't know what to expect. I went to an orientation and set up my availability and they went over the company and how it works. I make more than at any other kitchen I've worked at and I can choose my availability. The office staff are really nice and always respond quickly. Pay day is every other Friday. I like working with them and will stay for a while.

I just recently got hired on by Stellar as a Server/Bartender. So far they have placed me at 2 different event locations. Both very good experiences, and both locations have now requested me for more shifts.
I am very happy with the way Stellar has helped me get back to work after a hiatus from the industry. Being able to work in the field I love in a different capacity than restaurants & bars has been amazing and I look forward to more experiences thanks to Stellar.
