Typical day can range from slow to fast-paced, depending on the day or time. Making a variety of beverages for customers. Warming up food and treats, made in back of house. 

I learned how to be better with customer service, how to make different kinds of beverages(mainly coffees and teas). 

Management can be pretty tough or non-existent. They care a lot more about the restaurants as they are the main money makers. But management do not want to pay you for doing nothing, so you constantly gotta find work to do even if it isn’t busy at all and you cleaned everything you could. I think Hours should just be changed. 

Workplace culture is fun if you are social, you get to talk to customers and give them good quality service. Coworkers are typically great to work with, there is always music playing. You also get to do Food Expediting if you work in the Bistro. ONE OF MY FAVOURITE THINGS ABOUT IT, gives you more experience in restaurant industry.  

Hardest part was finding something to do when it was mid day on a weekday. They don’t want you standing around but you can only clean so much. 

Getting to socialize with people and getting to do food expediting. 

I loved my summer in Waterton! Work was busy during the day, but once the shift was over I could take in the beauty of the park. It is the most stunning place to be. Most of the people are fairly young, so there's a lot hangouts, group hikes, shenanigans... :) 
As a server I was surprised you don't keep your tips every night...but I was allowed to check my tip totals whenever, and could see a breakdown of the tip out that went to the kitchen staff. It was fair. At the end of my contract I got a fat check of all my tips together! That helped because I spent my wages going out lol.
I had serving experience coming in, but some of the other people did not. But it all worked out, its not anywhere as fast and crazy as Toronto was.
I will probably go back next year! They seem to like re-hiring past employees, I just got sent another contract!

This is my second season working at the Bayshore Inn and Spa. The management team here is very supportive and helpful. I have made a lot of money here as a server, you work 6 days a week so if you have a financial goal you are trying to reach this is the place for you. Like any seasonal job it has its challenges, living with other people from all over the world and being in a national park away from the regular world can be tough for some people but if you can focus on the surrounding beauty, the money to be made and the opportunity to make new friends this is a wonderful place. Highly recommend for someone looking to get rid of debt or someone who has yet to experience the beauty of the Rockies. 

You basically work to live. You won't have any money leftover. There is a lot they don't tell you, like you need to buy your own hand soap and toilet paper for the dorm washrooms. Coffee isn't included in breakfast. Also-- the meals suck. Be prepared to starve, especially if you are vegetarian/vegan.
No one is properly trained.. have fun figuring out everything on your own. The only good thing about this place is the scenery and mountains. Do yourself a favour, stay in Calgary and drive to Banff on the weekends to get your nature time in. Don't waste your time at this awful company

Spent 2 summers working in Waterton at the Bayshore Inn (2017 and 2018)- specifically serving in the Chophouse Restaurant. Loved my time there. Yes- hard work for sure (typically one day off a week) but that's why i was there. Tips were great, view was amazing. Met amazing people and loved enjoying the outdoors while there (hiking especially). Management was lovely and supportive. Highly recommend - only challenge is that b/c the town is small, getting out to get supplies (shop, groceries etc) can be a bit of a pain.

Management was hit or miss when it came to supporting their staff. Substances are a bad problem on site at this resort including in the accommodations and kitchen during work hours. Working in Bistro my supervisor was amazing and that portion of the job was enjoyable however upper management was unprofessional. Never any support in the mornings. If you work here prepare to see some things. 

To work in Waterton is a benefit on its own. It's a beautiful National Park and with Bayshore located right alongside the lake - you have to appreciate all the hard work and effort it takes to get the property up and running and closed up just for the summer season. But during the time in-between - it's loads of fun! You get to make lasting friends, explore the park, and get paid - all while working at the same location. When you work, you work hard. But on your time off, you get to play hard too.

Took a semester off school to travel a little, explore the mountains and earn money. Heard about Waterton from a friend and had no idea how beautiful it was until I decided to apply there. 

Overall, it was a very busy summer. I worked 6 days a week and made some really good money. I was mainly there to work, so I didn't mind the schedule. Made a lot of good friends that I still stay close with.

Meet some wonderful people both locally and international travellers. 
Great memories can be made and enjoyed working here. 

Zero respect given to staff. Micro managed on and off the clock like nothing I have seen before. Accommodations are sub par and they are constantly threatening you with “fines” if you don’t clean up after the children you live with. Can’t even sit on a pic mic table passed a certain hour. Huge tip out which none of goes to the bartenders but the owner takes a cut. If you respect yourself don’t work here
