from 9am to5pm clean dinning room vac all the carpets 10am help with food prep 11am costumers started showing up for lunch made sure all pots and pans dishes siverware and cups glasses were put away properly ran dishwasher from 11am to 530pm helped chef prepare dishes made sure cups were out glass were out at the stations and all the dishes were full after dinner was done started cleanning the kitchen when i was finished that helped preparing for the supper rush the last things i had to do was emptied all the garbage cans in the kitchen and the main garbage was taken out to the dumpsters. i got along with managment i enjoyed working with my coworkers the most enjoyable part of the job was knowing i had a job and i did a good job.

I started at Elephant and Castle as a host and within a few months worked up to server. They are really great about promoting within and working around student schedules. Management was always lovely and encouraged an open door policy to talk about any issues. Working there was like working with family and money/ business was very consistent pre Covid. 

I only stayed for a few months, and in that time saw about ten or eleven people get fired (at least 80% for no cause), and another six or so quit. Management is gossipy and conniving, some of the least professional people I've ever met. The money was completely disproportional to the work, to the point where I suspected management was skimming tips. The people they "liked" got the worst of it. Everyone there was exhausted and browbeaten. They have no concept of work-life balance. There's literally no reason to work here.

I would recommend anyone interested working in food and hospitality to work at Elephant & Castle. The management team is wonderful, coworkers are wonderful, the place is ran immaculately.
The only flaw that I can point out are that on some shifts there was inadequate staffing. Aside from this, they are a wonderful company.

The food was excellent. Fresh and authentic. I started as a bartender and moved to supervisor and then assistant manager and manager.
Very busy , high paced restaurant and bar.We often had lineups out both doors.Catered to the downtown business market, the shopping mall market and the beer market.Many long term staff and promotions from within .

Great place to work but the salary is pretty low.
A lot of the things are made from scratch, so if you enjoy cooking this would be fun
If you are looking to climb up the ranks forget it. 
If you are looking for a place that teaches you to put extra attention on the plating ,this is not the place for you.
A great company of people though. Everyone is pretty much very sweet.

I previoulsy worked for this company and it is one of the worst and most toxic environments that I have ever worked in.

The senior staff are extreamly abusive to the new staff, and do not help with any training. They all act like they are in highschool. 

I would reccommend to just stay away from this place. It's not a good place to work. 

I feel like management used intimidation tactics on staff in order to maintain a culture of fear. People got fired all the time for mysterious reasons, people quit all over the place. The turnover was crazy. The amount of money wasn't worth the fact that splits would almost always turn into 10 hour shifts if the floor manager didn't like you.

The typical day is like any serving job, set up, serve, tear down. The management is decent and can be  flexible if you need. The people and workplace culture are great and the best part about working here.

I had previously worked for an EC in Toronto and got hired at the Winnipeg location for a few weeks before moving to Alberta. Management was incredible and so supportive. Staff was so friendly and great to work with, truly wish I could of stayed working their longer.
