Go in twice a day every day in the morning for a couple of hours and in the evening for a couple of hours to take care of animals. Walk them, Clean Kennels, Feed them according to diet, Any Physical therapy or Medical Care that needs to be given. Not many people apply because most of the students go home on the holidays and over Christmas but still, managers are working right beside you helping with everything. Very great work environment. Enjoy everyone I work for or with and love being with the animals and enriching their lives in any way possible. Wish COVID didn't happen and in school class weren't cancelled the first semester and only done online. As well as having the end of my first year the second semester cut short right during March Break when I was working on campus.

Even though my position as a Wellness Center attendant had me working mostly by myself, I still found that I wasn't ever really working alone. The maintenance crew, teachers, supervisors, so many people would stop by and interact with me. 
In this job, I learnt how to work on a team. When I mention working on a team I mean more than just working with other Wellness Center employees. Not only was I asked to help with a few things outside the Wellness Center, but I was also helped by others from outside my department whenever I needed something. This was a great eye-opener for me. I realized that the people here aren't just in it for themselves, or just to get a pay, they all have the same goal: to make this a better environment to work, learn, and live.
There isn't really anything difficult about this job, as it doesn't require much, but the most enjoyable part would have to be interacting with members as well as anyone who stops by.

Friendly and enjoyed working independently. Days were busy and the time flew by quickly

I did not get stressed from the work, 
Biggest stress was seeing a coworker unhappy for personal reasons

Kind friendly atmosphere and very inclusive at the Haileybury campus

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
The days were busy and steady. Getting students enrolled and registered for the programs of their interest was feel good work. Nice to hear people getting excited for their futures

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
There was nothing as such stressful. 
Every job has it's pros and cons. So there was nothing precise in the company that was stressful. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
That's amazing.
Fantastic coworkers, amazing supervisor and best manager. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
A typical day at Northern college for my job position might include using a lot of technology and a lot of interaction with people.

My interview process at Northern College-Haileybury Campus was very straightforward and when I started work, I was welcomed by the team and given the walkthrough of how things are usually done, what their typical day is, who does what, and who to call for when help is needed.

Everyone is very easy to work with and as per any establishment, you also have to do your part as a member of the team.

Due to relocation and school, I had to leave but if an opportunity or a position opens up that I can apply to, I will definitely do so again and come back to the area!

What is the best part of working at the company?
Feels like I'm working with family.  

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
A bit slow about renewing contracts or posting job openings when it's clear help is needed. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Very inclusive,  part of a great team!

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Several meetings,  juggling more than one activity, working with others to problem solve.

Not an ideal learning or working environment. Not enough tables or chairs for students. 
Computers, projectors and internet don’t work for staff members. 
Management was unorganized and not professional. 
Learning environment was below satisfactory. 
Students unhappy and got yelled at by staff. 
Dirty environment.

This is a job where you are taking people with little or no experience in a trade and transforming them into fully competent employees. It is challenging because you need to adapt training to match each students ability to perform the tasks required. The reward is that when you finally click with the student and are able to see that they finally "got it" and can now go out and get the job they are looking for.

They offered me a full time position! I did not accept as they do no respect students and employees ( broken furntiture, filthy lunch room). No reliable admin staff as they leave job within months.  To make story short they are abusive to international students and professors. Called ministry to complain but no-one responded.

Graduated Veterinary Technician in 2013. The school was great and the program was amazing. It helped me in my after school jobs such as vet clinic and volunteer opportunities.
I got a sense of dead lines and making sure the animals were properly taken care of. Administrating medication and over all care was met for all animals.
