I loved working here as I got to consistently welcome new people to the outdoor adventrue community. I loved to share my passion and knowledge of the outdoors and the equipment needed to safely enjoy their time out there. Truly humbling to give people the confidnece to get out there and be in nature. 
My time at Atmosphere had all the typical headaches of retail, but thats just nature of the beast for retail. No fault of Atmosphere.
I managed to start as part time advisor and worked all the way up to SGM within a 3-4 period. If you are a gear nut and love the inovation of outdoor gear companies and want great employee discount program, go for Atmosphere. Dont be disheartened if you arent strong with communication skils, you will develop them! 

Job isn't challenging at all, but management staff completely ignores availability and constantly scams you out of raises that you're supposed to be guaranteed. Scheduling is very obviously based on favouritism. Management only cares about who they like to talk to, and who signs up customers for the most loyalty MasterCards. Good customer service is not rewarded; in fact almost nothing is rewarded.

The store doesn't have enough staff in to cover bathroom breaks for 70% of the year, so to go to the bathroom you leave your department unwatched.

The employee discount is unbelievable, every product in the store is at least half price.

This is a decent job if you're a high school student, that's really about it.

You get paid minimal for your work yet you're expected to be a "pro of the field". You get a great discount, sure, but the perks end there. The company is lost, things would change by the month, support is nonexistent, and no one wants to do the job in front of them. 

You're expected to be a pro and learn everything about every item in the store but if you want a pay raise for good work, strong work ethic, excellent knowledge... Well good luck; you won't ever scale up, minimum wage is the name of the game - forever.

If you want something temporary while you go to school this is the job for you, unless you don't want to be treated like a possession of Canadian Tire; because that's all you are when you're employed by them. 

This is a really flexible place to work for students on a part time basis. wages are great and the atmosphere is laid back.

As a full-time employee i usually quite enjoy my day to day stuff. I talk to as many customers as I can to make sure everything is going smoothly on the sales floor. I get to be friends with most of the staff. I oversee the footwear department which offers reprieve from the social life of the floor offering instead some peace and quiet when needed. overall, I'm very satisfied to work here, although i do have my grievences

Business; depends on the location of store (ex; if it's inside a mall, business depends on how busy the mall is) and time of the year (fall/winter being the most busiest seasons)

Work Load; nothing you won't be able to finish on time, nothing too challenging,

What is the best part of working at the company?
Having paid sick, so if your sick you don't lose money and you can take care of your health properly.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Receiving shipments with half empty boxes, being over stocked with products that don't sell, buyers that don't know what they're buying and not representing brands properly.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
High turnover. Constantly changing atmosphere.

Atmosphere is a great fun place to work. There is always new product to learn about. One of my favourite things about Atmosphere is the customer adventure stories I hear while helping them find the products they are looking for. 
The two things that aren’t the best about Atmosphere. The expects you to be a credit card salesman and they pretty much give anyone with the CT MasterCard and many other company’s better discount then they give their staff. 

Mainly stock, and finding product for online orders was what I would do. On a normal day, I would help customers in footwear and on cash, but some days I would be very busy, some days I had no customers. They environment was very fun, once you get to know everyone. They are very welcoming and if school was getting too stressful for me, they would allow me to take some time off work to focus on school which I really appreciated.

Was a great place to work and loved all the people I worked with. Learned so much about all the products that were offered at the store. Management was great and was always energetic. Had so much fun selling all the different products to the customers and finding the perfect product for everyone. Hardest part was keeping track of all the new products that were coming in and knowing all the product information.

This company has a poor corporate culture, disrespectful management, and a lack of direction for the future. They've shifted strategies so many times in the last few years, no one knows what to do anymore. 
In day to day work, part time retail employees are expected to treat the company as the be all end all, but are paid essentially minimum wage. It's a disgrace.
