Full-Time Digital Content Coordinator
Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Corporate Communications Supervisor, the Digital Content Coordinator develops, produces, and manages engaging digital content that supports organizational priorities, community engagement, crime prevention initiatives, recruitment efforts, and corporate branding. Using videography, photography, graphic design, social media, and multimedia storytelling, the Digital Content Coordinator creates compelling content for internal and external audiences across a variety of digital platforms.
The Digital Content Coordinator supports the development and delivery of social media training for internal members, maintains brand consistency, monitors digital content performance, and provides data-driven recommendations to enhance audience engagement and organizational visibility. Working collaboratively with internal members and community partners, the Digital Content Coordinator contributes to strategic communication initiatives that strengthen public awareness, trust, and the reputation of the Greater Sudbury Police Service.
Specific Tasks & Responsibilities:
Social Media Training
- Develop, maintain, and deliver social media training programs for internal members and personnel.
- Create training materials, instructional guides, videos, toolkits, and best-practice resources related to social media use.
- Educate members on organizational social media procedures, brand standards, content creation techniques, and platform-specific requirements.
- Provide one-on-one coaching and group training sessions to support digital storytelling and content development.
- Monitor emerging social media trends and recommend training updates to ensure relevance and compliance.
- Support internal members in developing engaging, accurate, and audience-focused digital content.
Videography
- Plan, script, film, and edit high-quality video content for digital, social media, internal communications, recruitment, public education, and community engagement initiatives.
- Capture photo and video assets at community events, corporate functions, press conferences, training exercises, and organizational initiatives.
- Manage all aspects of video production, including storyboarding, lighting, audio recording, equipment setup, filming, editing, graphics, and post-production.
- Produce short-form and long-form video content optimized for multiple social media platforms and digital channels.
- Maintain and organize digital media assets and video libraries.
- Ensure all video content aligns with organizational branding, messaging, accessibility standards, and communication objectives.
Corporate Branding and Marketing
- Support the development and implementation of corporate branding and marketing strategies.
- Ensure brand consistency across all digital platforms, marketing materials, publications, campaigns, and communications.
- Develop promotional materials including digital advertisements, graphics, brochures, presentations, and campaign assets.
- Collaborate with internal members and stakeholders to develop marketing initiatives that enhance public awareness and organizational reputation.
- Assist in promoting programs, services, events, recruitment campaigns, and community initiatives.
Protect and strengthen the organization's visual identity and brand standards.

Digital Content Creation
- Develop creative, engaging, and informative content for social media, websites, digital signage, newsletters, and other digital communication channels.
- Produce content supporting crime prevention initiatives, public education campaigns, community engagement programs, organizational announcements, recruitment efforts, and corporate initiatives.
- Create graphics, reels, animations, infographics, photography, video, and written content tailored to specific audiences and platforms.
- Maintain a content calendar and coordinate content publishing schedules.
- Adapt content to suit various platforms including Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, YouTube, and emerging digital channels.
- Ensure content is accurate, accessible, timely, and aligned with organizational communication priorities.
- Apply storytelling techniques to communicate key messages and enhance audience engagement.
- Support crisis communications and urgent information dissemination when required.
Digital Content Analytics
- Monitor and analyze digital communication performance across social media, websites, and other digital platforms.
- Prepare regular reports on content effectiveness, audience growth, engagement metrics, campaign performance, and emerging trends.
- Use analytics and audience insights to inform content strategy and continuous improvement efforts.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide recommendations to increase reach, engagement, and audience awareness.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of digital marketing and communication campaigns.
- Research industry trends and identify opportunities to enhance digital communications initiatives.
Community Engagement and Audience Development
- Develop digital strategies that strengthen community awareness, trust, and engagement.
- Create content that encourages meaningful interaction with the public and stakeholders.
- Monitor online conversations and help identify opportunities for positive community engagement.
- Support public awareness campaigns through digital storytelling and audience-focused communication.
- Collaborate with community partners and internal members to promote organizational initiatives.
- Assist with live event coverage and real-time social media engagement during events and campaigns.
Digital Strategy and Content Planning
- Contribute to the development and execution of digital communication and content strategies.
- Identify emerging technologies, digital trends, and innovative content opportunities.
- Conduct research to understand audience needs and preferences.
- Develop content plans that align with organizational priorities and communication objectives.
- Coordinate multiple projects and campaigns while managing competing deadlines.
- Recommend new tools, platforms, and approaches to enhance digital communications effectiveness.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary diploma in Communications, Digital Media, Marketing, Public Relations, Multimedia Production, or a related field.
- 2-3 years of experience in digital content creation, corporate communications, marketing, social media management, or multimedia production.
- Demonstrated experience creating and managing content across multiple digital and social media platforms.
- Experience developing and executing digital communication, community engagement, and marketing campaigns.
- Experience planning, producing, and editing professional-quality video content.
- In-depth knowledge of social media platforms, trends, algorithms, and best practices.
- Strong understanding of digital storytelling, content marketing, audience engagement, and brand management.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards, copyright regulations, privacy legislation, and digital communication best practices.
- Understanding of analytics platforms, performance measurement, and data-driven content strategies.
- Knowledge of current and emerging digital communication technologies and trends.
- Advanced proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, including Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, and InDesign.
- Proficiency in professional photography and videography techniques, equipment, and editing software.
- Experience using social media management and scheduling platforms.
- Experience with website content management systems (CMS).
- Experience utilizing social media and web analytics tools including Meta Business Suite, Google Analytics, YouTube Analytics, LinkedIn Analytics, and similar platforms.
- Ability to create multimedia content including video, photography, graphics, animations, infographics, and written content.
- Knowledge of artificial intelligence (AI) content creation tools and their responsible application within organizational communications.
- Class “G” Driver’s license, with good driving record.
Assets:
- Post-secondary degree in Communications, Digital Media, Marketing, Public Relations, Multimedia Production, or a related field.
Bilingualism (English/French) considered an asset

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday dayshift, 40 hours/week (some evenings and weekends required)
Rate of Pay: $35.03-$43.93/hour
