ABOUT CPCOE
The Chronic Pain Centre of Excellence for Canadian Veterans (CPCoE) is a national research centre dedicated to improving the well-being of Canadian Armed Forces Veterans and their families living with chronic pain. Established in 2020, the CPCoE works in partnership with Veterans, researchers, healthcare professionals and other organizations to advance understanding of Veteran-specific chronic pain and improve approaches to its management.
Chronic pain affects approximately 41% of Canadian Veterans—about twice the rate reported in the general Canadian population. The CPCoE supports Veteran-informed research and collaboration across Canada, with a focus on generating meaningful evidence and translating that knowledge into accessible resources, education, policies and programs that can improve the lives of Veterans and their families.
The Centre’s work is guided by three interconnected priorities: Research, Partnerships, and Knowledge to Action, with Veteran engagement and lived experience informing its activities.
