JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Summary

Responsible for the effective execution of the Tooling Preventive Maintenance Program by coordinating maintenance activities with production schedules to ensure optimal mold performance, equipment reliability, and operational efficiency. Collaborate closely with Production and Engineering teams to diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and resolve mold-related issues and breakdowns in a timely manner, minimizing downtime while supporting safe manufacturing operations and maintaining product quality

Essential Functions

Manage and execute the preventative maintenance (PM) program for molds and tooling to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

Perform minor mold repairs resulting from normal production wear and identify opportunities for preventive action.

Maintain accurate and detailed tooling records, including maintenance history, repairs, and modifications.

Communicate tooling issues, concerns, and improvement opportunities effectively with Engineering, Production, and Maintenance teams.

Report equipment malfunctions, tooling concerns, and maintenance requirements promptly to the Tooling Supervisor.

Report all accidents, incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions immediately in accordance with company procedures.

Perform tooling maintenance and repair activities, including welding, machining, polishing, and sandblasting as required.

Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and technical documentation.

Safely operate overhead cranes, forklifts/tow motors, and other material-handling equipment as required.

Support production and maintenance activities by assisting with tooling changeovers, troubleshooting, and equipment setup.

Provide coverage for other team members during absences and assist in cross-functional duties as required.

Adhere to all company safety, quality, and operational procedures while maintaining a clean and organized work area.

Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

2. Physical Demands & Working Conditions

Position requires repetitive hand, wrist, and arm movements throughout the shift.

Requires frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, pulling, pushing, and stooping throughout the shift as part of regular job duties.

Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 55 lbs occasionally.

Requires manual dexterity for precision tasks.

Work is performed in a fast-paced production environment with changing operational priorities.

1. Qualifications & Skills

Proven ability to perform effectively in fast-paced work environments.

Strong team player with the ability to collaborate effectively and work independently with minimal supervision.

Strong mechanical aptitude with experience using, inspecting, and maintaining a wide range of hand and power tools.

Thorough understanding of workplace safety procedures and best practices related to heavy equipment operation and maintenance.

Excellent organizational, documentation, and record-keeping skills with strong attention to detail.

Reliable attendance and a consistent record of meeting performance expectations.

Flexible and willing to work overtime or extended hours as required to support operational needs.

Post-secondary education in a technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Mold Maker (431A) certification, or enrollment in a recognized apprenticeship program leading to certification, is considered an asset.
