Landscape Maintenance Apprentice – Outdoor Labour / Landscaping
Creative Roots Landscaping – Kelowna, BC
Full-Time | Seasonal (March–November) & Potential Snow & Ice work Nov-Feb
$22–$26/hr + overtime + benefits + profit sharing

This is not a casual summer job.

At Creative Roots Landscaping, we build and care for some of the Okanagan’s most beautiful properties — and we do it with people who take pride in physical work, being outdoors, and getting better every day.

This role is best suited for people who enjoy hard work, being outdoors, and challenging themselves every day. You'll finish each day able to point at beautiful properties throughout Kelowna and say, "I helped create and care for that."

We are hiring 3 more Landscape Maintenance Apprentices for the 2026 season.

Who This Role Is For

You’ll likely be a strong fit if you:

Have real experience working outdoors (landscaping, tree planting, construction, farming, trail work, outdoor recreation, etc.)
Take pride in physical work and can handle long, demanding days
Show up on time, ready to work, without being pushed
Want to build a long-term career in landscaping or the trades
Are coachable, humble, and willing to learn
Care about doing quality work — even when no one is watching
Work well on a team and contribute to a positive crew environment

Requirements (Non-Negotiable)

Valid BC Class 5 Driver’s Licence
Physically capable of lifting 50+ lbs repeatedly
Willing and able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Positive attitude, coachability, and team-first mindset

Who This Is NOT For

Do not apply if you:

Are looking for a temporary or “in-between” job
Prefer indoor, low-effort, or casual work
Struggle with reliability or punctuality
Don’t enjoy physical labour or working in all weather
Have a pattern of job-hopping without commitment
Resist feedback or prefer to “do things your own way”

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll be part of a maintenance crew responsible for high-end residential properties. Your work will include:

Lawn care: mowing, trimming, edging
Garden bed care: pruning, weeding, mulching
Seasonal cleanups
Learning irrigation basics
Safe operation of tools and equipment
Maintaining clean, organized job sites

This is hands-on, outdoor work. It is physically demanding and detail-oriented.

What Success Looks Like (6–12 Months)

You are reliable and trusted by your crew
You consistently produce clean, high-quality work
You take feedback well and improve quickly
After your first season, your foreman trusts you to complete work properly without constant supervision.
You are progressing toward Apprentice → Foreman growth

Compensation & Benefits

$22–$26/hr (with relevant outdoor experience)
Paid overtime (8 hrs/day or 40 hrs/week)

2-week paid working trial (mutual fit check)
