Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled CNC Mill Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining our CNC milling machine to produce high-precision components. This role requires a strong understanding of CNC programming, blueprint reading, and mechanical knowledge to ensure quality and efficiency in production. Experience with DMG MORI, specifically DMU 340 Gantry with hyperMILL CAD/CAM Software and Fanuc controls, and related machining tools is highly desirable. The CNC Mill Operator will play a critical role in supporting manufacturing processes, ensuring safety standards, and maintaining optimal machine performance.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate CNC milling machines, including CNC lathe and CNC milling machine equipment, following detailed blueprints and specifications.
Program CNC machines using CAD/CAM software and troubleshoot issues related to Fanuc controls and programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
Perform routine maintenance on machinery such as press brake machines and CNC equipment to ensure proper functioning.
Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics for accurate machining processes.
Use hand tools, calipers, and other measuring instruments to verify dimensions and ensure quality control standards are met.
Conduct welding, assembly, and packaging tasks as needed within the manufacturing process.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols.
Assist with warehouse activities such as forklift operation or overhead crane operation when required for material handling.
Support continuous improvement initiatives by suggesting process enhancements based on observations.

Qualifications

Proven experience operating CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, or similar machining equipment in a manufacturing setting.
Strong knowledge of CNC programming, CAD software (hyperMILL preferred), blueprint reading, and mechanical principles.
Familiarity with Fanuc controls, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and hand tools used in machining operations.
Ability to operate forklift equipment safely when necessary.
Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to machining tasks.
Experience with quality control procedures including the use of calipers and other precision measurement tools.
Knowledge of welding, assembly processes, packaging procedures, and warehouse operations is a plus.
Mechanical aptitude combined with attention to detail to ensure high-quality output.
