Who We Want
We are looking for a Skilled Builder in Framing to take ownership of the structural framing phase of our builds.
This role focuses on:
- Subfloor layout and assembly
- Floor system construction
- Interior and exterior wall framing
- Roof line layout and framing
- Truss installation
- Interior wall sheathing
- Structural blocking and backing
- Window and exterior door installation
- Insulation installation
- Vapor barrier systems
- Framing quality control and structural precision
You will work in a structured production environment alongside design, engineering, exterior, mechanical, electrical, exterior and interior teams to bring projects to life from the ground up.
You will also help mentor Entry-Level Builders working in framing phases.

Responsibilities
The Framer will be accountable for:
- Professionally representing Elk Ridge Modular in all interactions
- Building subfloors, walls, roof systems, and truss packages accurately and efficiently
- Installing sheathing, backing, and framing support systems correctly
- Installing windows and doors square, level, and properly integrated into framing systems
- Installing insulation and vapor barrier systems according to build requirements
- Maintaining structural precision, layout accuracy, and production flow
- Coordinating with production teams to maintain project schedule
- Submitting daily Work in Progress reports
- Providing feedback on sequencing, efficiency, and process improvements
- Assisting with occasional service or warranty work
- Assisting with product delivery when required
- Mentoring and guiding Entry-Level Builders
- Looking after your weekly health, fitness, and mindfulness goals
- Any other duties requested by ERM Leadership
Experience & Traits Needed
- 5+ years construction experience
- Proven experience in wood framing and structural systems
- Experience with floor systems, wall framing, trusses, sheathing, insulation, and vapor barrier
- Strong understanding of structural assembly sequencing
- Ability to read drawings, layouts, and install specs
- High attention to detail
- Pride in structural precision and efficiency
- Strong communication skills
- Reliable transportation
- Sense of humour - we work hard, but we enjoy it
Not Required, But Helpful
- Forklift experience
- Forklift certification
- Experience in prefab/modular construction

Compensation
$30–45/hour depending on experience and qualifications.
If you’re just “kind of okay” at framing, this probably isn’t your lane.
If you can walk into a framed structure and immediately spot crown issues, bad layout, or something out of square, we should talk.
