WHY DO WE NEED YOU?

Agway Metals, a Saint-Gobain company, is hiring a Material Handler for its Brampton (Ontario) location.

Position Summary

The Material Handler, under the direction of the Plant Supervisor, will primarily be responsible for helping the machine operators and the loaders meet the demands of production and shipping. This position will assist with any material handling and crating duties required. This position will ensure high standards of workmanship and efficiency. Flexibility of shift is an important requirement for this position.

Job Duties

Assist mill operators with production;
Safely assemble skids and crates for our product;
Transport raw materials, finished products, and packaging materials throughout the plant manually, with a forklift, or with an overhead crane;
Assist with the loading of trucks;
Perform quality audits of the condition of goods for outgoing orders;
Safely operate lifting devices such as Counterbalance Forklifts, Combi-lifts, and Overhead cranes;
Adhere to established safe working procedures and wear the proper safety equipment at all times;
Ensure high standards of workmanship and efficiency;
Maintain a clean working area free from dirt and debris between tasks and at end of day;
Other duties as assigned.

Work Conditions

Use of required personal protective equipment
Operation and use of necessary tools, machinery, or equipment
Extended periods of standing, and other physically demanding conditions
Lifting, moving, or manipulating objects up to 25 kilograms
