Job Title: Lift Technician – Saskatoon, SK
Job Overview
We are looking for a dedicated Lift & Garage Equipment Technician to join our team, working out of our Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, branch. Responsibilities
- Maintain, inspect, and service customers' automotive lifts/hoists, wheel service equipment (including wheel balancers and alignment machines), and other garage equipment, including installations, equipment deliveries, and customer training.
- Conduct diagnostic tests on various mechanical, electronic, and hydraulic systems to ensure proper performance and inspect for faults and malfunctions.
- Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems using hand and power tools.
- Test repaired equipment to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers' specifications.
- Provide customer training and demonstrations on various types of equipment to ensure safe, proper operation.
- Assess and maintain the cleanliness of work areas.
- Manage and maintain a mobile parts inventory stocked in a company service truck..
Requirements & Skills
- High school diploma or GED.
- Prior experience or certification as a wheel service equipment, alignment machine, and/or lift technician.
- Proficiency in working with electronic and hydraulic garage equipment, ensuring safe maintenance and repair practices.
- Experience in Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, including energy isolation and control of stored energy.
- Previous training in fall protection and ladder safety.
- Prior certification or experience in scissor lift and forklift operation.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record, with the ability to drive while pulling a trailer for transport of equipment.
- Class 3 license is preferred but not required.
- Experience in loading, offloading, and load securement.
- Ability to work after-hours and travel to various customer sites as required.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills (both written and verbal), with a strong attention to detail.
Related Physical & Safety Requirements
- Travel to customer sites is anticipated both locally and out of town, including occasional overnights.
- Proficiency in loading, securing, and offloading heavy equipment.
- Capacity to independently lift, carry, and maneuver parts up to 75 pounds, and push/pull up to 1,500 pounds.
- Electronic Logging Device (ELD) use and tracking of Hours of Service (HOS) are required.
- Strict adherence to safety policies and protocols, including customer site requirements and proper maintenance/use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Employment Type & Compensation
- $27.00 – $37.00 per hour (Dependent on experience)
