Full job description

GoodHome Painting Co. is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Full Charge Accountant to join our team, managing the accounting for a medium sized corporation. The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling the company's financial records, including payroll, accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and financial reporting.

Duties

Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
General Ledger Management: Handle all general ledger accounting processes, including bank transactions, and monthly journal entries and reconciliations.
Accounts Payable/Receivable: Handle invoicing, payments, and collections to ensure timely and accurate processing.
Payroll Management: Set up and process bi-weekly payroll for employees. Collect & process employee reimbursements. GST & Payroll Tax Filing.
Budgeting and Forecasting: Develop and maintain budgets and financial forecasts, providing insights and recommendations for financial planning.
Year End Account Preparation: Coordinate and prepare for year end filing, ensuring all financial records are accurate and up-to-date.
Expense Management: Booking and monitoring company expenses and cash flow
Admin Support: On board new employees for payroll, add project details to our CRM, Draft invoices and populate Budget Target Sheets for Lead Craftsmen

Qualifications

Formal accounting training, eg Degree/Diploma in Accountancy
Minimum 3 years work experience as a Full Charge Bookkeeper or similar role
Proficiency in Quickbooks Online and MS Excel required
Fundamental knowledge of Canadian Payroll System
Strong problem solving skills
Excellent English communication, both written and oral
Experience in construction or related industry is preferred

Option to work remotely part time (1-2 days/week at home) will be available after 6 months of employment.
