Full job description

Position Overview

We are looking for a friendly, dependable, and motivated Full/Part-Time Member to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with customers, handling sales transactions, supporting food service operations, and contributing to the day-to-day success of the store.

The successful candidate will provide excellent customer service, maintain a clean and organized store, assist with inventory and grocery purchasing, and support basic food preparation when required. Training will be provided where needed.

Key Responsibilities

Welcome customers and provide friendly, professional, and efficient service.
Process customer purchases accurately using the POS system and handle cash, debit, and credit card transactions.
Recommend products and promote current specials to enhance the customer experience and increase sales.
Answer customer inquiries in person and over the phone.
Keep shelves, displays, refrigerators, and work areas clean, organized, and fully stocked.
Restock merchandise and assist with inventory counts and organization.
Support basic food preparation and kitchen duties while following food safety standards.
Purchase groceries and other store supplies as required using company-approved procedures.
Safely transport purchased groceries and supplies to the store and assist with unloading and stocking.
Follow all company policies, operational procedures, and workplace safety guidelines.
Work collaboratively with team members while also being able to work independently.

Qualifications

Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Positive attitude and a strong work ethic.
Comfortable handling cash, POS systems, and basic math.
Ability to multitask and remain organized in a fast-paced environment.
Reliable, punctual, and professional.
Able to lift and carry products and supplies as required.
A valid Class 5 driver's license (or equivalent) is mandatory.
Ability to legally work in Canada.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous retail, convenience store, or customer service experience.
ProServe Certification is an asset.
Food Handling Certification is an asset. Candidates who do not currently hold a Food Handling Certificate are welcome to apply.
Experience with food preparation or kitchen operations.
Ability to communicate in multiple languages is an asset.
