Elysian Imaging and Diagnostics is seeking a full-time, detail-oriented and patient-focused Patient Booking Clerk to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team in Surrey. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys coordinating patient care, managing complex schedules, and providing outstanding service in a fast-paced medical environment.

As a key member of our administrative team, you will play an essential role in coordinating appointments for MRI, CT, Ultrasound, Mammography, Bone Mineral Density (BMD), and other diagnostic imaging services. Your work will help ensure efficient scheduling, excellent patient communication, and exceptional service while supporting our radiologists, physicians, technologists, and clinical staff.

Hours of Operation: Monday through Sunday.

What You'll Do

Schedule patient appointments for MRI, CT, Ultrasound, Mammography, Bone Mineral Density (BMD), and other diagnostic imaging services.
Review physician requisitions to ensure all required clinical information has been received and identify any missing or incomplete documentation.
Coordinate appointment times based on exam protocols, urgency, patient availability, equipment capacity, and technologist schedules.
Provide patients with detailed preparation instructions specific to their imaging examination and answer questions regarding their upcoming appointment.
Register patients and maintain accurate information within the electronic medical record and scheduling systems.
Coordinate with radiologists, technologists, physicians, and referring clinics to facilitate efficient patient care and optimize daily workflow.
Respond professionally to patient and physician inquiries by phone, email, and in person.
Process incoming referrals, requisitions, reports, and supporting documentation while maintaining strict confidentiality.
Assist with obtaining prior imaging, reports, and relevant medical information when required.
Monitor waitlists, cancellations, and rescheduling opportunities to maximize appointment utilization.
Support front desk operations including patient check-in/check-out, scanning, faxing, filing, and general administrative duties.
Maintain a professional, compassionate, and patient-centred experience throughout every patient interaction.

Qualifications

Grade 12 diploma and a minimum of two years of recent experience in a medical booking clerk role, or an equivalent role in scheduling, administrative, or healthcare support
Previous experience scheduling diagnostic imaging examinations is considered a strong asset
Knowledge of medical terminology
Minimum typing speed of 40 words per minute
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills with a patient-centred approach
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic medical record or scheduling systems
Professional, reliable, and committed to maintaining patient confidentiality
Physical ability to perform the duties of the position
