Full-time Intermediate Accountant

The Opportunity
We're looking for an Intermediate Accountant to join our finance team and provide hands-on support across accounts payable, accounts receivable/sales posting, and payroll. This is a great role for someone who is looking for day-to-day accounting in a multi-entity, multi-location business, while also having the opportunity to help shape and improve our processes as we scale.
You'll work closely with the CFO and finance team and will be a key user of our NetSuite ERP system, with exposure to our ADP HRIS implementation currently underway. As we add new car wash locations, this role will grow in scope and responsibility with the opportunity for quick advancement.
What You’ll Do
Accounts Receivable/Sales Posting
· Post daily sales and reconcile point-of-sale/wash transaction data across multiple retail locations to NetSuite working within a Snowflake Dashboard environment and alongside our Business Intelligence Analyst
· Reconcile merchant/credit card deposits, membership revenue, and other retail payment sources
· Investigate and resolve discrepancies between site-level sales data and the general ledger
· Manage credit card disputes and refunds
Accounts Payable Support
- Process vendor invoices, coding and routing for approval in NetSuite
- Support with bi-monthly payment runs and vendor reconciliations across multiple entities/locations
- Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve discrepancies
- Support month-end AP close, accruals, and reporting
Payroll Support
- Assist with payroll processing and reconciliations across Canadian and US locations
- Support the transition to and ongoing use of ADP, including data validation and process documentation
- Help ensure accurate coding of payroll costs across entities and locations
- Respond to employee payroll inquiries in coordination with HR
Process Improvements & A.I.
- Bring ideas on how AI and automation tools can improve accuracy and efficiency in AP, AR, and payroll workflows
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, streamline processes, and enhance employee and customer experiences through the effective use of approved AI, automation, and technology solutions
Ideal Candidate
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in A/P and retail sales, ideally in a multi-location environment
- Working towards a CPA designation is an asset, but not required
- Hands-on experience with NetSuite or similar ERP
- Experience processing payroll with an understanding of Canadian payroll legislation; exposure to U.S. payroll is considered an asset.
- Experience with ADP payroll systems; experience supporting a payroll system implementation or optimization is a strong asset.
- Comfortable working with high transaction volumes across multiple locations/entities
- Genuine interest in AI tools and technology, and how they can be applied to improve accounting workflows
- A proactive, improvement-minded approach — you notice inefficiencies and suggest better ways of doing things rather than waiting to be asked
- Strong Excel skills and comfort learning new systems quickly
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced, growing business
