Full job description

Functional Role
The primary function of the superintendent is to provide on-site management of all phases of construction projects, including coordinating subcontractors, materials, equipment, ensuring that specifications are being strictly followed, setting and maintaining the site culture, and ensuring that work is proceeding on schedule and within budget. The superintendent shall be responsible for monitoring adherence to the Health and Safety Program on sites, scheduling, inspections, and quality control.

Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate all construction activities on-site, ensuring compliance with project plans and specifications.
Implement and ensure site safety activities adhere to our companies health and safety program.
Manage project schedules, timelines, and budgets effectively to ensure successful project delivery.
Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and quality control, addressing any issues that arise promptly.
Collaborate with subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to facilitate smooth communication and workflow.
Utilize construction management software such as ACC for project tracking and reporting.
Review schematics and blueprints to ensure accurate implementation of designs.
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff and laborers, fostering a productive work environment.
Assist project manager in monitoring expenses to ensure they are meeting budget.
Proactive understanding of upcoming project tasks and milestones with the understanding of schedule impact to changes and requested information.
Schedule and delegate site specific activities, deliveries, and subcontractor work.
Enforce jobsite rules, and implement consequences when said rules are not adhered to.

Skills

Proficient in budgeting and construction estimating to manage project costs effectively.
Strong knowledge of blueprint reading and the ability to interpret technical drawings accurately.
Experience with quality control processes to maintain high standards throughout the construction phase.
Familiarity with Bluebeam or similar software for document management and collaboration.
Excellent supervisory skills with the ability to lead diverse teams in a fast-paced environment.
Understanding of construction management software tools for efficient project oversight.
