Full job description

A growing and innovative manufacturing company in the Niagara Region is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Technician to join its team.

This is a full-time, permanent opportunity within a clean, well-organized manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in assembling, installing, testing, and commissioning specialized truck-mounted equipment and hydraulic systems.

What You'll Do

Install and assemble hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical components on heavy equipment and truck bodies
Install pumps, motors, valves, cylinders, hoses, lift axles, engines, and related systems
Drill and modify truck frames and equipment components as required
Wire and connect sensors, relays, solenoids, control panels, lighting, and electronic systems
Perform equipment testing, calibration, pressure testing, and leak detection
Diagnose and troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical issues
Utilize diagnostic tools and software to perform updates and equipment testing
Document testing results and report deficiencies
Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient work area
Collaborate with team members to meet production and quality objectives

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of experience in heavy equipment, truck equipment, manufacturing, mechanical assembly, or a related industry
Strong understanding of hydraulic systems, schematics, pumps, motors, valves, cylinders, and hoses
Experience working with 12V and 24V electrical systems
Ability to read mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical diagrams
Experience using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
Comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs and working in a manufacturing environment
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently
Strong communication and teamwork skills
