Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated House Parent(s) to provide supportive care and supervision in a residential setting. The role involves overseeing daily living activities, ensuring safety, and fostering a nurturing environment for residents with diverse needs. Ideal candidates will have experience in assisted living, senior care, or working with individuals with disabilities, including dementia and autism. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in residents' lives through personalized care and support.

Duties

Provide assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
Administer medications and manage care plans in accordance with medical directives and HIPAA regulations
Monitor vital signs and recognize signs of health issues or emergencies
Assist with meal preparation, feeding, and nutritional needs of residents
Operate EMR systems for documentation of care activities and resident progress
Support residents with behavioral management, conflict resolution, and memory care strategies
Utilize equipment such as Hoyer lifts safely during transfers and assist with heavy lifting when necessary
Conduct routine cleaning to maintain a safe and hygienic environment
Drive residents when needed for appointments or outings, ensuring safety protocols are followed
Document resident interactions accurately while maintaining confidentiality at all times
Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans

Experience

Prior experience in assisted living, nursing home, or home care environments preferred
Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, dementia, Alzheimer's, autism, or other special needs highly desirable
Knowledge of medical terminology, medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and basic patient care techniques
Familiarity with EMR systems and HIPAA compliance required
Certification in first aid and CPR is preferred
Previous caregiving roles involving social work, case management, or hospice care are advantageous
Ability to perform physical tasks such as heavy lifting and use of assistive devices like Hoyer lifts required
Strong conflict management skills coupled with compassionate communication abilities are essential for success in this role
