Full job description

Join a top employer and advance your career. Aplin has partnered with a Toronto, ON-based organization to hire a Junior Accountant! This will be a permanent opportunity supporting full-cycle accounting for two newly established business entities.

Benefits & Perks

Compensation: $60,000–$70,000 annually
Please note, this role will be fully on-site in the client's downtown Toronto office during training and onboarding, transitioning to 4 days on-site thereafter.
Permanent, full-time position + Benefits

Responsibilities

Perform full-cycle accounting for two newly established business entities
Manage accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes
Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger (GL)
Complete bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
Assist with month-end and year-end close activities
Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation
Reconcile general ledger accounts and ensure the accuracy of financial data
Support financial reporting and other accounting-related projects as required
Collaborate with internal departments to resolve accounting inquiries
Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficiencies

Qualifications

2+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience
Hands-on experience performing full-cycle accounting
Strong experience completing bank reconciliations
Experience managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities
Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams
Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Experience working in a high-volume, transactional accounting environment is considered an asset
Previous experience within the energy sector is considered an asset
Experience using Sage Intacct is considered an asset
Experience working in a start-up or high-growth organization is considered an asset
