Impala Canada operates the Lac des Iles Mine (LDI), producing 41% of Canada’s palladium and providing high-paying career opportunities for high-caliber individuals who want to work with modern equipment, strong leadership, and a company that invests in its people. Located just 90 minutes northwest of Thunder Bay, LDI has been in operation for 32 years and plays a vital role in producing palladium: a critical mineral essential to reducing global vehicle emissions and supporting a cleaner environment.

LDI is located in Robinson-Superior Treaty territory, on the traditional lands of the Anishnaabeg and the Métis. Reporting to the Mine General Foreman, the successful candidate will work a 14 days on, 14 days off rotation at the Lac des Iles mine site.

Responsibilities:

· Daily supervision of the underground workforce in conjunction with safely meeting daily production plans

· Monitor and apply company safety procedures

· Ensure that the underground workforce is in compliance with Ontario Mines regulations and the Occupational Health and Safety Act

· Preparation of daily reports

· Oversee drilling and blasting

· Identify training needs and provide training to employees

Qualifications:

· Five years hard rock mining experience at a supervisory role, preferred experience in blast-hole/ long-hole applications

· Basic Ontario Hard Rock Common Core and Ontario Supervisory Common Core required

· Intermediate level experience with Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel)

· Working experience with Avanti Payroll software or similar payroll applications

The position offers a competitive remuneration package consisting of base salary, health & medical insurance, retirement savings plan and travel allowance.Accommodations and meals are provided while at the mine site. On your off duty time enjoy various outdoor and indoor extracurricular activities.
