TwinCon is currently seeking an experienced Traffic Control Manager to join our team for a project at Meziadin Junction, BC. The Traffic Control Manager will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day traffic control operations, coordinating traffic control personnel, and ensuring traffic control setups are properly implemented, maintained, and compliant with applicable regulations and project requirements.

Duties & Responsibilities

Oversee and coordinate all traffic control operations on site.
Supervise and coordinate Traffic Control Persons (TCPs) and other traffic control personnel.
Set up, manage, inspect, maintain, and dismantle traffic control zones in accordance with approved traffic management plans, regulatory requirements, and site-specific safety procedures.
Ensure traffic control devices, signage, barricades, and equipment are properly placed and maintained.
Direct and manage vehicle and pedestrian traffic while maintaining the safety of workers, the public, and project personnel.
Monitor traffic conditions and adjust traffic control measures as required to maintain safe and efficient traffic flow.
Coordinate traffic control activities with project management, site supervisors, equipment operators, subcontractors, and other site personnel.
Identify hazards and respond promptly to changing site and traffic conditions.
Ensure traffic control personnel are following established procedures and safe work practices.
Conduct regular inspections of traffic control setups and equipment.
Report and document traffic control issues, incidents, hazards, and operational concerns.
Assist with the implementation of traffic management plans and site-specific traffic control requirements.
Maintain accurate daily records, reports, and documentation related to traffic control operations.
Demonstrate strong leadership, communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
Promote a positive safety culture and lead by example.
Perform other traffic control and site-related duties as required.

Requirements & Qualifications

Valid BCCSA-approved Traffic Control Person (TCP) certification in British Columbia.
Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation to and from work.
Minimum 5 years of TCP and traffic control experience, including construction site and highway flagging.
Minimum 3 years of experience in civil construction.
Previous experience supervising or leading traffic control personnel.
Strong knowledge of traffic control procedures, equipment, signage, and safe work practices.
Ability to read and follow traffic management plans and site-specific traffic control requirements.
Experience working on highways, remote projects, or Ministry of Transportation projects is considered an asset.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively coordinate with workers, supervisors, subcontractors, and the public.
Strong decision-making, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to recognize changing or hazardous conditions and take appropriate action.
Proven commitment to workplace safety and a strong safety record.
Ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced construction environment.
Punctual, reliable, professional, and hardworking.
Willingness to work overtime as required.
Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions and for extended periods of time.
Must be willing and able to work at a remote project location at Meziadin Junction.
