About Us
BLT Construction is a trusted Canadian general contractor with over 30 years of experience delivering high-quality construction projects.

We are currently seeking a Skilled Labourer to join our Vancouver Team. In this role, you’ll support various on-site activities under the direction of the Site Superintendent and other senior team members. As a Skilled Labourer, you’ll play a vital part in the successful execution of our projects bringing a strong work ethic, a collaborative mindset, and a commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.

Requirements

Strong communication skills to effectively interact with peers, Site Superintendent, and other trades onsite.
Ability to work well within a team and independently.
Demonstrate a “safety first” attitude.
Results-driven and proactive approach.
Professional, innovative, and self-starter attitude.
Foster a positive and professional work environment with trades and coworkers.

Responsibilities

Maintain a tidy and orderly job site.
Be familiar with construction documents, drawings, and local building codes.
Arrive prepared for work with necessary tools.
Assist in coordinating and scheduling other trades.
Support the implementation of BLT’s Occupational Health and Safety Policies.
Promote adherence to all Health and Safety requirements on the job site.
Manage project documents and drawings.
Collect daily work logs from subcontractors.
Move, load, and unload materials.
Coordinate with base building contractors, client representatives, and operations managers.
Order materials and equipment for job sites.
Monitor inventory of materials delivered to job sites.
Set up and remove protection materials for finished work (e.g.,floor protection/ram board, drop sheets, plastic coverings).

Qualifications

Previous experience in construction or a similar skilled labourer role is an asset.
Knowledge of construction documents and safety protocols.
Must have reliable transportation to travel to various job sites.
Physically fit and able to lift/move heavy materials as needed.
