Position:

SACLA is seeking a compassionate, motivated, and experienced Team Leader to lead and support frontline employees who provide support to people with developmental disabilities. As a Team Leader, you will provide leadership, coaching, and operational oversight to frontline staff and contractors while ensuring high-quality, individualized services that empower people to achieve their goals and live meaningful lives. You will work collaboratively with individuals, families, guardians, employees, and management to promote positive outcomes and ensure services are delivered in accordance with organizational policies, procedures, and best practices.

What You'll Do:

Provide leadership, supervision, coaching, and mentorship to frontline support staff and contractors.
Coordinate staff schedules, monitor staffing needs, and provide direct support when required.
Foster a positive, collaborative team culture focused on accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
Complete annual planning and required documentation for individuals receiving services.
Monitor the implementation of Personal Support Plans (PSPs), Behaviour Support Plans, and other individualized support plans to ensure quality outcomes.
Complete and monitor daily, monthly, and annual reporting requirements.
Maintain accurate, current documentation, including files and MyCompass records.
Lead and participate in case management meetings and collaborate with the people we support, families, guardians, and interdisciplinary teams.
Participate in the recruitment, orientation, onboarding, mentoring, and ongoing development of employees.
Conduct regular staff supervision, coaching sessions, and annual performance evaluations.
Complete monthly home visits with contractors and monitor respite services where applicable.
Coordinate mandatory staff training and professional development.
Ensure compliance with SACLA policies, the Collective Agreement, and all applicable health and safety legislation.
Promote person-centred practices that enhance the quality of life of the people we support.

What We're Looking For:

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship building skills.
Strong organizational and time-management abilities with exceptional attention to detail.
The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Sound judgment and confidence when responding to emergencies and complex situations.
The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team.

Qualifications/Skills Required:

Diploma (minimum two years) in Human Services or a related field from a recognized post-secondary institution.
Three to five years of experience in human services or a related field.
One to two years of supervisory or leadership experience.
Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office, with strong documentation and reporting skills.
Must have the ability to lift and transfer up to 45 lbs (20.41 kgs).
Must have the ability to provide personal care to both male and female adults.
Valid Class 5 driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
Basic First Aid & CPR.

Working Conditions:

This position requires flexibility and the ability to work in a variety of environments, including offices, community settings, and within people's homes.

The successful candidate must be able to:

Work effectively with people receiving services, families, guardians, staff, community partners, and government agencies.
Travel within the community as required.
Participate in an on-call rotation and work overtime when operationally necessary.
Perform intermittent physical activities, including walking, standing, sitting, lifting, and assisting with transfers.
Work at a desk and complete administrative tasks for extended periods.
Work in homes and community settings for extended periods.
Work in a fast-paced environment while managing competing priorities.
Follow all health and safety protocols, including working safely in environments where exposure to infectious diseases or other workplace hazards may occur.
