Job Summary

We are looking for a hands-on Accountant with 3 to 8 years of experience to join our team in Mississauga. This Individual Contributor role focuses on handling general accounting workflows, core financial schedules, and day-to-day transaction processing. If you enjoy executing diverse accounting routines, working through structured workflows, and meeting tight deadlines within a collaborative team environment, this position is an excellent fit.

Salary: $70000 - $80,000 CAD per year
Work Model: Hybrid (3 days minimum in Mississauga office)
Structure: Reports directly to the Controller
What to Expect: This is a strictly execution-focused, hands-on independent contributor role. Success requires a candidate who genuinely enjoys being "in the weeds" of daily transactional workflows

What You'll Be Doing

60% – General Accounting & Closing Routines

Perform complete monthly bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, and intercompany reconciliations flagging variances for review of the Controller.
Prepare and post standard month-end accruals for unbilled items (utilities and other monthly vendor billings) under strict closing deadlines.
Actively update and maintain Fixed Asset registers and Prepaid expense schedules.

20% – Accounts Payable (AP) Support & Expenses

Review, code, and process high-volume corporate credit card statements under tight timelines.
Match, code, and post non-PO invoices accurately to the right GL account.
Process and verify personal employee expense claims according to company policy.

20% – Projects & Ad-Hoc Requests

Assist the Controller with special projects, process updates, and financial testing.
Use Excel (Pivot Tables, SUMIF, VLOOKUP) to analyze, clean, and organize large lists of transactions for ad-hoc queries.

What You Bring/ Key Skills/ Who You Are

3 to 8 years of hands-on accounting and transactional processing experience.
Proven ability to deliver accurate results under tight deadlines.
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or Commerce or any related fields.
Advanced Excel skills (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, SUMIFs, Index/Match functions).
Open to any ERP software; familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 is a plus.
Collaborates effectively within and across departments to gather details, answer questions, and support overall company objectives.
Detail oriented with high level of accuracy.

Pay: $70,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
