Full job description

Role: Part-Time Operations & Customer Support Contractor

Location: Hybrid | Must be based in or near North Vancouver, BC and available to work in-office approximately 1 day per week.

Pay & Hours: $18.50/hour | 16 hours/week

Schedule: Monday to Thursday | 8am – 12pm PST or 9am – 1pm PST (Flexible to work weekends when needed)

Ideal Candidate

You’ll be a great fit if you’re naturally organized, reliable, curious, and comfortable figuring things out. This role involves a mix of customer service, e-commerce, software, research, and general business operations, so no two days will be exactly the same.

You should be comfortable working independently, taking ownership of tasks, following up without being reminded, and asking good questions when something is unclear.

Responsibilities

Customer Support & Onboarding: Provide friendly, patient support across multiple online businesses, address inquiries via phone/email, and onboard and follow up with real estate software clients.
E-Commerce & Operations: Manage Shopify orders, handle customer issues, organize project/order data, and support daily operational workflows.
Software Testing: Test internal software platforms as an active user to identify and report bugs or user experience issues.
Supplier & Research Outreach: Research products, contact manufacturers/suppliers, request pricing, and manage end-to-end follow-ups.

Requirements & Qualifications

Communication & Professionalism: Strong written English and professional verbal communication skills; comfortable making phone calls and sending professional emails.
Independent Problem-Solving: Ability to figure things out, ask smart questions, and flag problems early without needing step-by-step instructions for every task.
Reliability & Execution: High attention to detail, honest, punctual, and disciplined in following tasks through to completion and documenting work clearly.
Confidentiality: Able to responsibly handle customer, order, and proprietary business information.
Multitasking: Comfortable switching between different businesses and shifting task priorities throughout the day.
Bonus Experience: Familiarity with customer service, Shopify, SaaS, CRM systems, e-commerce, or real estate is a plus, but not required.

Tools You May Work With

Shopify, Google Workspace, spreadsheets, CRM systems, project-management software, AI tools, internal software platforms, and various e-commerce/SaaS systems. Experience with all tools is not required, but you should be confident learning new technology quickly.

Growth Opportunity

This position starts at 16 hours per week, with the potential to increase hours, responsibilities, and compensation as the role grows. For the right person, there is significant room to expand into a larger long-term role.

Pay: $18.50-$20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16.0 per week
