Job Summary
Berkshire Siteworks is a fast-growing excavation and civil construction contractor. We internally manage and perform repairs and maintenance to our growing fleet. We are looking to expand our fleet service team to provide the necessary support to our operations team while we conquer larger and more exciting projects. Berkshire Siteworks is looking for an organized, professional and ambitious individual to fill the role of Heavy-Duty Mechanic. The focus of this role is to ensure efficient, safe and quality repairs to our growing fleet.

Responsibilities:

Diagnose, repair, and maintain a fleet of heavy equipment, including excavators, loaders, skid steers, etc.
Diagnose, repair, and maintain a fleet of trucks, trailers and other miscellaneous equipment.
Conduct routine maintenance checks and inspections to ensure optimal performance of equipment.
Complete repairs and maintenance both in the shop and in the field.
Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively to perform repairs and maintenance tasks.
Read and interpret schematics to troubleshoot electrical systems within heavy machinery and other equipment.
Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of repairs and maintenance tasks.
Maintain accurate records of repairs, parts used, and maintenance schedules.
Adhere to safety protocols while working on equipment to prevent accidents and injuries.
Assist in the training of junior mechanics or apprentices as needed.

Qualifications:

Red Seal Certificate Preferred.
Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic or similar role (3+ years).
Ability to work flexible hours and overtime as required to minimize equipment down time.
Ability to lift up to 60lbs.
Proficiency in using hand tools and diagnostic equipment effectively.
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Valid driver's license may be required for transportation of equipment between job sites.
Welding/fabrication experience is a plus.
