We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Systems Engineer – Fleet Hybridization
to take a highly autonomous role in developing G-Force Hybrid Drive into a market-ready product for large fleet customers.
This is not a narrowly defined engineering support role. We are looking for someone who can take initiative, identify what needs to be done, organize the work, coordinate with senior leadership, and drive the project through to completion.
The successful candidate will help standardize how the G-Force system is built, define technical specifications, develop the required documentation, identify certification and compliance requirements, and support the creation of a product package that can be sold to and supported by municipal transit agencies, military fleets, waste management fleets, and other high-utilization fleet operators.
Experience with fleet engineering, electrical engineering, controls systems, vehicle integration, technical documentation, and fleet procurement requirements will be highly valuable.
This role requires a hands-on engineer who is comfortable moving between design work, shop-floor troubleshooting, prototype development, field testing, and customer-facing technical support.

Key Responsibilities
· Take ownership of the technical work required to develop G-Force Hybrid Drive into a market-ready fleet product.
· Work autonomously to identify gaps in documentation, engineering standards, specifications, testing, certification, and product readiness.
- Create and manage a practical roadmap for moving the product from its current stage to a standardized, sellable, and supportable fleet solution.
- Coordinate with senior leadership to align technical development with business, sales, and market objectives.
- Work with marketing and leadership teams to ensure technical capabilities, specifications, performance claims, and product documentation are accurate and commercially useful.
- Help define what the product needs to look like for municipal transit, military, waste management, and other large fleet customers.
- Lead the development of processes, documentation, and technical systems that allow the product to be installed, maintained, supported, and sold at scale.
Fleet Engineering & Market Readiness
· Apply fleet engineering experience to ensure the product meets real-world requirements for uptime, durability, maintenance, diagnostics, safety, serviceability, and lifecycle cost.
· Identify technical requirements for large fleet adoption, including municipal, government, military, waste management, utility, and corporate fleet applications.
- Translate prototype or early-stage systems into standardized, repeatable build and installation processes.
- Evaluate vehicle integration requirements across different chassis, powertrains, duty cycles, and operating environments.
- Help define fleet-specific product configurations, options, and technical packages.
- Support pilot programs, field trials, customer demonstrations, and fleet evaluations.
Technical Specifications, Documentation & Certification
· Develop and organize the technical documentation required to make the product sellable and supportable.
· Create or coordinate the creation of specification sheets, installation manuals, service manuals, wiring documentation, inspection procedures, commissioning checklists, and troubleshooting guides.
- Identify required certifications, compliance requirements, testing standards, and third-party validation needs.
- Support the development of documentation packages for government procurement, municipal fleet buyers, military applications, and enterprise fleet customers.
- Help establish quality control standards, installation procedures, field support processes, and maintenance requirements.
- Work with third-party engineers, consultants, testing labs, certification bodies, or regulatory advisors as required.
Electrical Engineering, Controls & Data Systems
· Support the development and improvement of electrical systems, control systems, and vehicle integration architecture.
· Assist in defining or developing custom control systems for hybrid drive operation, safety interlocks, diagnostics, monitoring, and operator interfaces.
- Work with sensors, controllers, wiring harnesses, relays, contactors, actuators, batteries, inverters, DC/DC systems, motors, and related vehicle electronics.
- Support data gathering, data logging, remote monitoring, diagnostics, and fleet performance reporting.
- Assist with integration into CAN bus, SAE J1939, OBD-II, telematics, or other vehicle communication systems.
- Help define control logic, safety logic, system monitoring requirements, and diagnostic capabilities.
- Work directly with senior leadership
- Coordinate with marketing to ensure product messaging is technically accurate and aligned with real-world fleet value.
- Provide technical input for sales materials, product literature, customer presentations, grant applications, procurement packages, and fleet proposals.
- Communicate technical requirements and product capabilities clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Support customer-facing conversations with fleet managers, maintenance supervisors, procurement teams, government buyers, and military or industrial customers.
- Help bridge the gap between engineering, operations, sales, marketing, and customer requirements.
Required Qualifications
· Experience in vehicle systems engineering, electrical systems engineering, controls engineering, fleet electrification, hybrid vehicle systems, or related technical roles.
· Experience working with or supporting fleets operated by municipalities, transit agencies, military organizations, waste management companies, utilities, large corporations, or industrial operators.
- Strong understanding of fleet operations, vehicle maintenance, uptime requirements, serviceability, diagnostics, and lifecycle cost.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of a complex technical project from planning through completion.
- Experience developing technical specifications, documentation, procedures, manuals, or product standards.
- Familiarity with vehicle electrical systems, controls systems, diagnostics, or vehicle integration.
- Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and organizational skills.
- Ability to coordinate with senior leadership, technicians, engineers, customers, vendors, and marketing teams.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable working in an entrepreneurial environment where processes may need to be created from the ground up.
Preferred Qualifications
· Degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automotive Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related field.
· Experience with hybrid, electric, auxiliary drive, or vehicle electrification systems.
- Experience with municipal transit fleets, military vehicle programs, waste management fleets, utility fleets, or other heavy-duty fleet environments.
- Knowledge of CAN bus, SAE J1939, OBD-II, telematics, PLCs, embedded controllers, or vehicle control modules.
- Experience with data acquisition, remote monitoring, diagnostics, fleet analytics, or performance reporting.
- Experience developing or implementing custom control systems.
- Familiarity with certification, compliance, or regulatory requirements for vehicle modifications or aftermarket vehicle systems.
- Hands-on experience with wiring harnesses, schematics, sensors, batteries, inverters, motors, controllers, and vehicle electronics.
- Familiarity with CSA, SAE, ISO, UL, or transportation-related electrical safety standards is considered an asset.
- Experience supporting government procurement, municipal tenders, military sales, or large corporate fleet evaluations.
- Experience with CAD, electrical schematic software, control software, or system modeling tools is an asset.

Compensation
Compensation will be based on experience, qualifications, and fit for the role.
Salary Range:
· Mid-level: CAD $95k–$130k
· Senior/specialized: CAD $130k–$180k
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8am-4:30pm
Travel: Some travel may be required for customer visits, field trials, fleet installations, demonstrations, testing, or technical support.
