About the Role

Altex Industries is seeking an experienced and hands-on Night Shift Foreman / Supervisor to lead operations in our welding and fabrication shop. This position is responsible for overseeing production activities, ensuring work is completed safely and efficiently, and maintaining the highest standards of quality.

We are looking for a strong leader and mentor who can build a high-performing team, support employee development, and drive continuous improvement across the shop floor.

What You’ll Do

Lead, supervise, and mentor welders, fitters, apprentices, and production staff
Assign and coordinate daily work to meet production schedules and deadlines
Promote a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance with company policies, hazard assessments, and safe work practices
Monitor productivity, workmanship, and quality of output across the shift
Ensure all work is completed in accordance with drawings, procedures, and specifications
Train and support employees to enhance skills, performance, and teamwork
Maintain organized work areas, drawings, and work orders, ensuring correct revisions are used
Coordinate with QA/QC for inspections, hold points, and testing requirements
Identify and address non-conformances, supporting rework and corrective actions
Monitor and control the use of materials, consumables, and tooling
Work closely with maintenance to ensure equipment is operating safely and efficiently
Ensure clear communication and a smooth handover between shifts
Support continuous improvement initiatives within the shop

What You Bring

Previous supervisory or foreman experience in a welding or fabrication environment
Strong leadership and mentorship skills with the ability to develop and motivate teams
Minimum 5+ years of relevant welding/fabrication experience
Alberta B-Pressure Welder certification (or equivalent experience) preferred
Solid understanding of fabrication drawings and welding procedures (WPS)
Familiarity with industry codes such as ASME, TEMA, or API is an asset
Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement

Working Conditions

Shop-based manufacturing environment
Ability to stand, walk, and oversee production for extended periods
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs as required

Additional Information

Unionized position
Night shift: Monday to Thursday, 4:30 PM – 3:00 AM
Overtime and occasional weekend work may be required

Pay: $52.13 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
