Company Overview

Dimatec Inc. is a Winnipeg-based manufacturer serving the mining, drilling, machining, and industrial sectors. We are looking for a skilled and reliable Maintenance Millwright – CNC Equipment to help keep our equipment, facility, and production operations running safely and efficiently.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys troubleshooting, repairing equipment, solving problems, and supporting a busy manufacturing environment.

Summary

The Maintenance Millwright – CNC Equipment is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining CNC machines, manual machines, and related production equipment. This role also supports preventative maintenance, machine installations, facility maintenance, contractor coordination, and maintenance documentation.

The ideal candidate is organized, safety-focused, mechanically skilled, self-motivated and self-driven and able to respond quickly when equipment issues affect production.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain CNC machinery, manual machines, and related equipment
Complete planned and preventative maintenance activities
Respond with urgency to machine-down situations
Install, repair, modify, and maintain production equipment and work cells
Use machine manuals, technical documents, schematics, and vendor resources to diagnose equipment issues
Identify, source, and replace parts as required
Help ensure equipment is safe, reliable, and capable of holding required tolerances
Maintain accurate maintenance records, forms, logbooks, receipts, and machine files
Assist with ordering spare parts, lubricants, supplies, and maintenance materials
Support building and facility maintenance as required
Help coordinate contractors for equipment installation, repairs, and facility work
Ensure maintenance areas, tools, supplies, and the maintenance workshop are organized and secure
Support WHMIS identification and proper waste disposal practices
Participate in equipment improvement, relocation, and continuous improvement projects
Provide training or support to Maintenance Mechanic Level 1 employees when required
Be available (occasionally) for on-call support for urgent production or facility-related issues
Perform other duties as assigned by the Production Manager

Qualifications

Industrial Mechanic / Millwright Red Seal Certification
3–5 years of experience in a machine shop or manufacturing environment
Experience with CNC machinery and basic CNC operation
Ability to read machine manuals, mechanical and electrical schematics, assembly instructions, and troubleshooting guides
Knowledge of industrial mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and basic electrical systems
Experience with preventative maintenance programs
Valid driver’s license
Forklift certification, or willingness to obtain certification
Ability to operate or become qualified to use overhead cranes and scissor lifts
Computer skills and the ability to complete maintenance records
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and good hand-eye coordination

Familiar with general machine shop practices and building maintenance
Able to communicate clearly in English, both verbally and in writing
Comfortable using basic math in a technical work environment
Physically able to lift or push up to 50 lbs. regularly
Able to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks
Able to work at heights and in confined spaces when required
Safety-conscious and committed to following workplace procedures
Organized, dependable, and accountable for tools, parts, and records
A team player with a positive attitude
Flexible and able to prioritize changing maintenance needs
Committed to continuous improvement and quality workmanship
