Summer Landscape Technician/Crew Member

Location: Burlington/Oakville, Ontario, Canada

Job Description:

We are seeking a hardworking and motivated Summer Landscape Technician to join our dynamic landscaping team. This full-time position is focused on providing high-quality garden maintenance and installation services, with the opportunity to learn and develop landscaping skills. As a key part of our team, you’ll support the day-to-day operations, assisting with various landscaping tasks, and contributing to a positive team environment. Whether you're an experienced landscaper or just starting out, we’re excited to help you grow your skills and knowledge in the landscape management field.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform garden maintenance tasks including cultivating, weeding, fertilizing, perennial care, and pruning to maintain high-quality standards.

Participate in early morning team activities, including loading trucks and trailers, watering, and weeding plant inventory.

Assist in setting up and cleaning up worksites, including sweeping and blowing debris at the end of the day.

Operate small landscaping equipment such as backpack blowers, hedge trimmers, and other hand tools.

Plant and maintain trees, shrubs, perennials, annuals, and outdoor containers.

Assist with garden construction activities such as digging, site preparation, planting, and mulching.

Work with river rock, lay flagstone, and install armor stone as needed.

Collaborate with team leaders and supervisors to ensure project deadlines and quality standards are met.

Follow on-site health and safety procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your teammates.

Use job management software (e.g., Jobber) to track time and provide updates as required.

Continuously learn and expand your landscape maintenance and garden installation knowledge.

Other duties as assigned to support team goals and client satisfaction.

Requirements:

High school diploma (landscape experience or education is an asset but not required).

Must be physically capable of lifting 40+ pounds, using a wheelbarrow, and performing repetitive tasks.

Able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions, from early mornings to late afternoons.

Strong attention to detail and quality in all aspects of work.

Team-oriented with a willingness to take direction and collaborate.

Problem-solving skills to address and resolve on-site issues as they arise.

Hardworking, self-motivated, and dedicated to continuous improvement.

Must provide a valid G2 driver’s license and have daily access to personal transportation to get to/from job sites.

Compensation & Benefits:

Hourly wage: $19.57–$22.66/hour based on experience.
