Full job description

Overview
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer (P.Eng) to join our team in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The ideal candidate is a motivated and detail-oriented professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and has a strong background in Finite Element Analysis (FEA), project management, and mechanical design using AutoCAD and Inventor.

Preference will be given to candidates with experience in the multi-modal transportation industry and a proven ability to deliver innovative engineering solutions in complex, dynamic environments across the transportation and steel construction sectors.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage mechanical design projects from concept through to completion.
Perform detailed Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to support product development and structural integrity assessments.
Develop 3D models, assemblies, and detailed drawings using AutoCAD, Inventor and Tekla.
Oversee project schedules, budgets, and deliverables, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, electrical, and civil engineering disciplines.
Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and engineering expertise throughout all project stages.
Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
Support the estimation team with design concepts and drafting

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation and registration with Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba (EGM).
Minimum 5 years of relevant mechanical engineering experience.
Demonstrated proficiency with FEA tools, AutoCAD, and Inventor.
Proven experience in project management and leading engineering projects.
Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Experience in the multi-modal transportation industry is considered a strong asset.
