Company Overview:

Flatstone Construction

is an English River First Nation–owned general contractor providing end-to-end infrastructure and construction services across Northern Saskatchewan. Job Summary:

The Shipper/Receiver is responsible for the accurate and timely receipt, inspection, storage, and shipment of materials, equipment, parts, and supplies in support of Flatstone’s construction and mining projects. This is an entry-level role ideal for someone who is reliable, organized, and eager to learn the operational side of an industrial construction business.

The Shipper/Receiver works closely with the warehouse team, project coordinators, site supervisors, and vendors to ensure materials are properly received, documented, and dispatched to job sites on time. Full training will be provided, including safety procedures, equipment use, and inventory systems.

This position requires reliability, physical stamina, attention to detail, and a safety-first mindset. It is a great opportunity to start a career in industrial construction and grow with an established First Nation-owned company.

Key Responsibilities:

Receiving & Inspection

Receive incoming shipments of materials, parts, tools, and equipment from vendors and couriers

Verify deliveries against packing slips and purchase orders; identify and report any shortages, overages, or damaged goods.

Inspect items for quality and condition prior to acceptance and put-away.
Sign for and document incoming freight in accordance with company procedures.

Shipping & Dispatch

Prepare materials, parts, and equipment for shipment to project sites, including pulling orders, packing, palletizing, and labelling.

Coordinate outbound shipments with couriers, freight carriers, and project site personnel.

Prepare shipping documentation, including bills of lading, waybills, and packing slips.

Ensure correct loading and securement of materials on trucks and trailers in compliance with safety requirements.

Inventory & Warehouse Support

Organize and maintain the warehouse, yard, and storage areas in a clean, safe, and orderly condition.
Stock and put away received materials in their designated locations.
Assist with inventory counts, cycle counts, and reconciliation of stock levels.

Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely (training provided)
Maintain accurate records in the inventory tracking system.

Health, Safety & General

Follow all company health and safety policies, procedures, and site-specific requirements.

Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and required training.

Report hazards, near misses, and incidents promptly.

Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of trip and slip hazards.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent
Valid Saskatchewan Class 5 driver’s license with a clean abstract
Forklift certification considered an asset (training will be provided to the right candidate)
Basic computer skills, including familiarity with email and inventory or shipping software
Ability to read and interpret packing slips, purchase orders, shipping documents, and basic instructions
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping
Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical work in a warehouse environment
Comfortable working outdoors and in variable weather conditions
Prior warehouse, shipping, retail, or labour experience is an asset but not required

Working Conditions

Warehouse and yard environment with indoor and outdoor work, including in cold, heat, and inclement weather
Regular lifting, carrying, bending, and standing for extended periods
Use of material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks
Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with site requirements
Occasional overtime may be required during peak shipping periods or project mobilizations
