Job Description

Dairy Queen Grill & Chill is seeking a motivated, results-driven Assistant Manager to help lead our restaurant operations and support the General Manager in delivering exceptional guest experiences. This role is ideal for a strong leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys developing team members, and is committed to maintaining high standards of quality, cleanliness, and service.

As an Assistant Manager, you will play a key role in daily operations, employee development, customer satisfaction, and achieving business goals.

Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Development

Assist in recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and training team members
Coach, mentor, and motivate employees to achieve performance goals
Foster a positive, respectful, and team-oriented workplace culture
Lead by example in customer service, professionalism, and work ethic
Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback

Operations Management

Oversee daily restaurant operations to ensure efficiency and profitability
Manage opening, closing, and shift procedures
Ensure food quality, presentation, and service standards are consistently met
Monitor labor costs and assist with scheduling to meet business needs
Maintain inventory levels and place orders as required
Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures

Customer Expereince

Deliver outstanding guest service and resolve customer concerns promptly
Build positive relationships with guests and the local community
Monitor customer feedback and implement improvements when necessary

Food Safety & Compliance

Ensure adherence to food safety, sanitation, and health regulations
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe restaurant environment
Conduct routine operational and safety inspections

Financial Responsibilities

Assist with cash management, deposits, and daily reporting
Monitor sales performance and key operational metrics
Support initiatives to improve profitability and operational efficiency

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of restaurant, retail, or hospitality management experience
Proven leadership and team development skills
Strong customer service and conflict-resolution abilities
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Legally eligible to work in Canada
