Full job description

Overview
McEown Ave Dental is looking for an enthusiastic and positive team member! Our privately owned clinic is looking to add a full time receptionist Monday-Friday.

Our office is open Monday-Thursday from 8am until 5pm, and Fridays until 4pm to start your weekend early - no evenings or weekends required.

Your primary focus will be on patient scheduling, experience, and accepting payment. Minimal direct billing and an additional back end reception position help to distribute the workload during busy stretches in the day. Holiday and lunch hour relief provided.

We offer competitive wages based on experience as well as a benefits package that includes group health, uniform allowance, and free parking (electrified stalls provided in winter). Further details can be discussed at the interview.

Experience in Dentrix is an asset, but not a requirement. Training will be provided by the dentists and management, as well as ongoing support and coaching.

Responsibilities

Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival and departure
Manage multi-line phone systems to schedule appointments, answer inquiries, and handle patient communications
Verify patient information, insurance details, and update electronic medical records accurately using Dentrix software
Assist patients with check-in/check-out procedures and collect payments as needed
Maintain organized front desk area and ensure all administrative tasks are completed efficiently
Coordinate with dental staff to facilitate smooth patient flow and appointment scheduling
Handle correspondence, including emails and appointment reminders
Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality at all times
Support administrative functions such as filing, data entry, and managing office supplies

Qualifications

Prior experience as a dental receptionist or in a medical office setting is preferred
Strong knowledge of dental terminology and electronic medical records systems such as Dentrix
Experience working with multi-line phone systems in a busy office environment
Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
Effective communication skills both written and verbal
Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting
Proficiency in office software including MS Office Suite (Word, Excel)
Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to dental practice is a plus
Previous experience working with insurance verification and billing processes is advantageous
