Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Grinder/Polisher to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for precision grinding and polishing of metal components, ensuring they meet strict quality standards. This role offers an opportunity to work with advanced machinery and contribute to high-quality production processes in a dynamic environment. Candidates with experience in machining, quality control, and mechanical assembly are encouraged to apply.

Duties

Operate grinding and polishing equipment to achieve specified surface finishes on metal parts
Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate work
Utilize hand tools, power tools, and machining equipment such as CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, press brake machines, and CNC programming software
Perform welding tasks including MIG welding when necessary for component assembly or repair
Set up and adjust machinery using programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and CNC controls
Conduct quality inspections using calipers, micrometers, and other measurement tools to verify dimensions and surface quality
Maintain a clean and organized work area adhering to safety standards
Assist in assembly processes as needed, ensuring parts meet manufacturing specifications
Support lean manufacturing initiatives by identifying process improvements and reducing waste

Qualifications

Proven experience in grinding, polishing, or machining within a manufacturing environment
Knowledge of blueprint reading, CNC programming, and mechanical assembly processes
Skilled in operating CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, press brake machines, and other machining tools
Familiarity with welding techniques such as MIG welding is preferred
Ability to use calipers, micrometers, hand tools, power tools, and other measurement devices for quality control
Basic math skills necessary for precise measurements and calculations
Understanding of lean manufacturing principles and warehouse experience is a plus
Mechanical knowledge combined with experience in machining or manufacturing processes is highly desirable
Ability to work safely with heavy machinery while maintaining high attention to detail
