Job Title: Bartender

Location: 4216 Dundas St. W, Etobicoke

Department: Region Food, + Bar

Reports To: General Manager

Position Type: Part-time

Job Summary:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Bartender to join our team at Region, Food, Wine + Bar, a region-focused food, wine, and bar establishment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for mixology, a deep knowledge of regional wines and spirits, and a dedication to providing exceptional service to our guests.

Key Responsibilities:

Guest Service:

Greet guests in a friendly and welcoming manner.
Take beverage orders from guests and servers, providing recommendations based on guests’ preferences and the regional focus of the menu.
Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks consistently according to recipes and standards.
Engage with guests to create a memorable and personalized experience.

Drink Preparation:

Mix and garnish cocktails according to standard recipes.
Pour wine and serve beverages, ensuring proper portions and presentation.
Maintain knowledge of current drink trends and seasonal beverage offerings.
Develop and recommend signature cocktails and beverage specials that reflect the regional theme.

Bar Maintenance:

Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, including stocking and replenishing supplies.
Ensure all glassware, utensils, and equipment are clean and in good working condition.
Conduct regular inventory checks and assist in ordering and restocking bar supplies.
Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverages.

Team Collaboration:

Work closely with servers and kitchen staff to ensure a smooth and efficient service flow.
Participate in pre-service meetings and ongoing training sessions.
Assist with training new bar staff as needed.

Cash Handling:

Accurately process guest payments, including cash, credit cards, and room charges.
Balance cash receipts at the end of shifts and report any discrepancies to management.

Qualifications:

Experience:
Previous experience as a bartender in a high-end restaurant or bar setting preferred.
Extensive knowledge of regional wines, spirits, and cocktail recipes.
Must have their Smart Serve.

Skills:

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle pressure with grace.
Proficiency in using Point of Sale (POS) systems.

Attributes:

Friendly, approachable, and professional demeanor.
Passion for mixology, regional beverages, and creating exceptional guest experiences.
Willingness to learn and adapt to new menu items and service standards.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Must be able to lift up to 25-50 pounds.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
