Job Overview
We are seeking a talented and passionate Cake Decorator/Pastry Chef to join our bakery team. This role involves creating beautifully decorated cakes and pastries, ensuring high-quality food preparation, and delivering exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in baking, cake decorating, and food handling within a fast-paced food industry environment. This position offers an opportunity to showcase creativity while maintaining strict food safety standards and delivering delightful culinary experiences to our customers.

Responsibilities

Design and decorate cakes, pastries, and desserts according to customer specifications and bakery standards
Prepare a variety of baked goods, including cakes, cookies, and other confections
Ensure all food preparation meets food safety and sanitation guidelines
Handle food packaging efficiently for take-out or delivery orders
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and work stations
Assist with inventory management and restocking supplies as needed
Collaborate with team members to ensure timely production and presentation of baked goods

Qualifications

Proven experience in cake decorating, baking, or pastry arts within a restaurant or bakery setting
Strong skills in food preparation, cooking, and food handling techniques
Knowledge of food safety standards and proper sanitation practices
Experience with kitchen equipment used in baking and decorating processes
Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, professional demeanor
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Creativity in cake design and pastry presentation
Prior experience in the food industry is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is valued
Strong piping, fondant, and decorating skills
Creativity and passion for recipe development
Ability to lift up to 25 kg
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Reliable transportation; personal vehicle preferred
Availability for early morning hours
Must be available for at least one weekend day
