Project Test Lead
Pay Rate: $81.18/hour, depending on experience
Contract Length: 8 Months

Raise is currently hiring a Senior Project Test Lead on behalf of our client. They’re expanding their team to meet growing needs, making this a unique opportunity to work with an industry leader. Our Client, is a major Canadian airline.
Note: The primary pay rate is based on T4 classification; however, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in an INC classification, where applicable.
Description
As our client continues to modernize their guest experience, they are seeking a highly skilled Project Test Lead to join our team. This pivotal role will focus on a critical business initiative: integrating a new Meal Voucher Vendor into our Disruption Management System to seamlessly handle rebooking’s and support impacted guests during flight disruptions.
The Project Test Lead will be responsible for developing a holistic test plan covering the end-to-end test scope for all teams and applications involved in this integration. You will ensure robust test coverage, strict traceability, and seamless defect management, while identifying and mitigating test-related risks across multiple overlapping workstreams.
The ideal candidate is a strong communicator who can collaborate effectively with business Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), product teams, and senior stakeholders to align on testing processes, ensuring a highly successful and reliable deployment.
Responsibilities
- Test Strategy & Planning

Analysis & Scope: Perform thorough requirements and architecture analysis to gain deep technical and functional knowledge. Review test scope across all phases to ensure appropriate coverage, proactively flagging gaps.

Master Test Plan: Create comprehensive test plans illustrating planned coverage, testing types/phases, application footprints, entry/exit criteria, and risk mitigation strategies.

Data & Environment Strategy: Architect a centralized test data plan to service all test teams across every phase of the project lifecycle.

Test Execution & Coordination

End-to-End Coordination: Write clear E2E test scenarios and coordinate the creation and execution of E2E test cases across two or more distinct product teams and legacy airline systems.

Traceability & Review: Review test cases across product teams and build a robust traceability matrix mapping test cases directly back to business requirements.

UAT Support: Partner with Business SMEs to align on UAT coverage, provide requirement-to-test mapping, and publish known issues prior to the start of testing.

Hands-on Support: Monitor resource plans to ensure workstreams are adequately staffed. If necessary, be prepared to step in and execute test cases if risk mitigation plans fall short.

Process & Defect Management

Tooling & Standards: Partner with the Quality Management Office (QMO) to define test and defect management tooling and develop highly efficient, reusable tracking processes.

Defect Triage: Chair regular defect triage meetings, ensuring defect logging standards are met and appropriate severity/priority levels are assigned for swift resolution.

Continuous Improvement: Hold comprehensive project test retrospectives to document lessons learned, successes, and actionable improvements for future phases.

Stakeholder Communication & Reporting

Communication Plans: Establish QA communication frameworks to provide clear lines of support for testers and set accurate status expectations for leadership.

Metrics & Reporting: Actively track and communicate test execution status, defect metrics, quality indicators, and project risks to Project Managers and organizational leaders.

Deployment Readiness: Produce high-level project test summaries detailing outstanding risks to directly inform go/no-go deployment decisions.
Qualifications
-
7+ years of hands-on experience leading QA teams, test execution cycles, and cross-functional testing workstreams.

7+ years of experience evaluating complex technical test scope and authoring comprehensive master test plans.

Proven expertise in requirements analysis, test case management, and defect triage management best practices.

Direct experience building requirement-to-test case traceability matrices for complex multi-system integrations.

Proven track record of conducting risk assessments and successfully executing QA-related mitigation plans.

Education and Certifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).

Certifications (Nice to Have):

ISTQB Advanced Level (Test Manager) or equivalent QA certifications.

PMP (Project Management Professional) or CAPM is a strong asset.
