Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a skilled Welder Fitter/Jig Maker to join our manufacturing team. This role involves designing, fabricating, and assembling precision components and jigs to support our production processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in welding, mechanical assembly, and CAD/CAM software, with the ability to interpret schematics and technical drawings. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where craftsmanship and technical expertise are highly valued.

Responsibilities

Fabricate and assemble metal components using welding techniques such as MIG, TIG, or arc welding
Read and interpret technical schematics, blueprints, and CAD drawings to ensure accurate fabrication
Design and modify jigs, fixtures, and tooling to facilitate manufacturing processes
Program and operate CNC machines including CNC lathe, CNC milling machine, and other machining equipment
Use hand tools and precision measuring instruments such as calipers to ensure parts meet specifications
Collaborate with engineering teams to develop prototypes and improve existing designs
Maintain quality standards by inspecting finished parts for accuracy and adherence to specifications
Maintain a clean and safe work environment following safety protocols

Skills

Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar programs for designing components and jigs
Experience with CNC programming and operation of CNC lathe, CNC milling machine, or other CNC equipment
Strong mechanical knowledge including understanding of machining processes and manufacturing principles
Skilled in welding techniques with the ability to work with various hand tools efficiently
Ability to read schematics, technical drawings, and mathematical measurements for precise fabrication
Knowledge of calipers, micrometers, and other precision measurement tools
Familiarity with assembly processes and the use of CAD for design modifications
Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in a manufacturing setting

Pay: $26.00-$28.00 per hour
