Full job description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Bookkeeper to support day-to-day financial operations for a busy team in North York, Ontario. This position is well suited to someone who is comfortable managing transactional accounting, maintaining accurate records, and keeping reporting activities on schedule. The successful candidate will bring a strong grasp of reconciliations, payables, receivables, and payroll while working confidently with Excel and NetSuite.

Responsibilities:

Maintain accurate financial records by recording daily transactions, updating ledgers, and ensuring supporting documentation is complete.
Oversee accounts payable activities, including reviewing invoices, preparing payments, and confirming expenses are coded correctly.
Manage accounts receivable by issuing invoices, monitoring outstanding balances, and following up on overdue payments.
Perform regular bank and account reconciliations to verify balances, identify discrepancies, and resolve variances promptly.
Support month-end close by preparing journal entries, reconciling key accounts, and assisting with financial reporting tasks.
Process payroll accurately and on time while ensuring employee payment records and related deductions are properly maintained.
Enter and update financial data in accounting systems and spreadsheets with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
Use NetSuite and Microsoft Excel to track transactions, produce reports, and improve visibility into financial information.
At least 2 years of experience in bookkeeping or a closely related accounting support position.
Hands-on experience with account reconciliations, including bank and general ledger balancing activities.
Practical knowledge of accounts payable and accounts receivable processes in a business environment.
Experience processing payroll with accuracy and attention to deadlines.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel for financial tracking, analysis, and record maintenance.
Working knowledge of NetSuite or comparable accounting software.
Strong data entry skills with a consistent focus on accuracy, organization, and confidentiality.
