About Mountain Brow Counselling

Mountain Brow Counselling is a growing group practice in Hamilton focused on trauma-informed, relational mental health care, helping clients across the lifespan and supporting the well-being of individuals, couples, parents, and families. We are seeking a part-time therapist with strong foundation and expertise in trauma who is looking for a long-term team home and values collaboration, clinical excellence, and meaningful client work.

Our unique approach includes walk-and-talk therapy, giving clients the opportunity to connect and reflect in nature as part of their healing journey.

About the Role

You have a strong foundation in trauma-informed treatment models and enjoy supporting adults through a variety of life challenges, including anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, parenting stress, life transitions, grief, and the lasting impacts of trauma.

You are passionate about helping clients develop deeper self-understanding, emotional resilience, and meaningful change. Experience supporting women, parents, and individuals navigating fertility, pregnancy, postpartum, reproductive loss, perimenopause, or menopause is considered a strong asset.

You have training in evidence-based approaches such as EMDR, IFS, somatic therapies, CBT, ACT, DBT, EFT, Brainspotting, Deep Brain Reprocessing, Narrative Therapy, or other trauma-focused modalities and are committed to providing compassionate, evidence-based care.

We are looking for a clinician who wants more than just a job: you are looking for a professional home and a team you can grow with. While we are hoping to hire soon, we are happy to work with the right candidate's schedule regarding their start date.

Role & Schedule Expectations

3 shifts per week (approximately 5 sessions per shift)
Must include:
1 evening shift
1 weekend shift
1 daytime shift
In-person work required in Hamilton (you can work from home when seeing virtual clients)
Ability to build toward a caseload of 15 client sessions per week

Qualifications

Either:

MSW (RSW) registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers

Master's degree in Clinical Psychology or Counselling Psychology and registered with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (RP, Independent Practice)

Additional Requirements

Strong clinical judgment and ethical practice, with the ability to work independently and with clinical autonomy
Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development
Professional liability insurance
