Full job description

About us

Helix Contracting is a small to medium sized general contractor working in the Industrial, Commercial and Institutional (ICI) industry.

Our customers are municipal, provincial and federal governments throughout Ontario.

We are seeking a dependable, motivated, hardworking, highly skilled individual that possesses strong leadership skills and is willing to travel to different job sites within North Western Ontario and/or Canada to complete the following duties.

PLEASE NOTE: This position is not located in Orillia, ON and requires a candidate who is willing to work away from home for 21 days on 10 days off in remote locations.

Duties
- Supervise and lead a team of workers in various construction projects

-Scheduling and directing the daily work and activities on the job site, ensuring worker and job site safety
-Reviewing project objectives and timelines daily and maintaining regular and consistent communication with Project Manager to ensure project success
- Ensure that work is completed according to project specifications and timelines
- Provide guidance and training to team members as needed
- Oversee the use of power tools and equipment on job sites
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure quality workmanship and adherence to safety protocols
- Collaborate with site supervisors and project managers to ensure project success

Qualifications
- Strong knowledge and experience in general ICI construction, equipment, tool safety, general construction procedures and techniques
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
- Excellent coordination, communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction plans
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines

- Must be able to pass various security and background checks
- Valid driver's license and willing to provide a Driver's abstract
