Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking friendly and energetic individuals to join our team as Customer Service Ice Cream Shop Associates. This role involves providing exceptional customer service, preparing and serving a variety of ice cream treats, and ensuring a clean and welcoming environment for all guests. Ideal candidates will have a passion for food service, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting.

Duties

Greet customers warmly and assist them in selecting their favorite ice cream products
Prepare food items according to safety and quality standards, including scooping ice cream and assembling sundaes or other treats
Handle cash and credit card payments with precision, ensuring proper cash handling procedures
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of workstations and equipment, in compliance with food safety regulations
Manage time effectively during busy periods to serve customers promptly while maintaining quality standards
Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth operation throughout shifts

Requirements

Previous experience in food service, restaurant, or food industry is preferred but not required; willingness to learn is essential
Strong customer service skills with a friendly attitude and excellent communication abilities
Ability to manage time efficiently during peak hours to serve customers quickly without sacrificing quality
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with a positive attitude and attention to detail
Basic math skills for handling cash transactions and giving correct change
Understanding of food handling, sanitation, and safety protocols in a food environment. Have or willing to obtain a Safe Food Handlers Certificate.

Pay: $20.00-$24.00 per hour

Ability to commute/relocate:

Tobermory, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
