About the Role

It's an exciting time to join Score’s Edmonton, Alberta team. We are looking for a Valve Technician to support our site services team. This is a fantastic opportunity to expand your skills, while using your valve experience and knowledge with a global company, reporting to the Sites Manager.

If you have experience working on all valves and enjoy working in a fast-paced, safety-orientated environment – where knowledge and skills are rewarded – then this is the ultimate opportunity for you!

This position is in town based, with a home base at our Edmonton workshop. This positions main focus will be site services, but will also support the workshop when necessary. The regular schedule will be Monday to Friday 8 am to 4:30 pm, with some overtime.

Main Responsibilities

Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with company policies, procedures, standards and work instructions.
Overhaul and recertification of relief valves including conventional, balanced bellows, pilot operated and vacuum types.
Overhaul, test and recertification of all isolation valve types.
Overhaul, test and recertification of all control valves, actuators and ancillary equipment.
Overhaul, test and recertification of all actuator types.
Troubleshooting and problem solving of all valve and actuator issues.
Provide core competence in use of valve flushing and sealant injection services.
Provide core competence in use of all torque and tensioning equipment.
Provide technical support to all valve workshop teams.
Plan and coordinate any project or shutdown work as and when required.
Conduct site surveys and produce detailed reports of the equipment detailed above in accordance with the client and/or the company’s requirements.
Ensure all workshop equipment and tooling are maintained regularly and all records kept up to date.
Responsible for the general housekeeping within and surrounding the department.
Participate in both the nightshift and weekend rotation.
Support other workshops where priority dictates.
Responsible for escorting any third party inspectors.
Participating in any Risk Assessments / Toolbox Talks.
General admin duties i.e. typing, data input, filing, scanning, meeting minutes.
Correspond and communicate professionally with both internal and external clients.
Update and utilise company systems – electronic and paper based.
Processing duties and systems administration.
Any other reasonable duties as required to meet the needs of the business.

Qualifications & Experience

Diploma in Mechanical (Manufacturing) Engineering Technology, Instrumentation or similar diploma.
Proven experience in a similar role, preferably within a project-based or industrial setting or additional qualifications in a relevant field is a plus.

Fully competent working independently on all valve and actuator types.

Reliable and professional in all settings, from the workshop to client-facing site work.

Working Conditions

Based out of the Score (Canada) Limited - West location in Edmonton, AB. Although it is expected you will travel to other work locations to support the client and the needs of the role - primarily around Western Canada .
Standard working hours are 40 hours per week, although it is expected that additional hours may be worked to satisfy the needs of the role.
Night shift working may be required.
No restrictions on travelling for business needs.
Travel may be at short notice
