We are looking for a certified Plumbing Journeyman with a proven track record in multi-residential new construction and extensive expertise in hydronic heating systems.
In this role, you will lead by example on the job site, executing complex rough-ins, finishing work, and installing advanced heating systems. You will work closely with Project Managers and Site Superintendents to ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and up to local building codes.
Key ResponsibilitiesMulti-Residential New Construction
- Interpret blueprints, architectural drawings, and mechanical schematics to plan layouts.
- Install, assemble, and connect DWV (Drain, Waste, Vent) systems, water distribution lines, and fixtures across multi-story buildings.
- Coordinate with other trades (electrical, HVAC, framing) to ensure seamless installation pathways.
- Troubleshoot and resolve on-site layout conflicts or design discrepancies efficiently.
Hydronic Heating Systems
- Design layout, install, and commission hydronic heating systems, including boilers, radiant in-floor heating, baseboard heaters, and snow-melt systems.
- Install and wire mechanical room components (pumps, expansion tanks, manifolds, zone valves, and control systems).
- Perform system flushes, pressure tests, and balancing to optimize heating efficiency.
Leadership & Safety
- Mentor, train, and supervise plumbing apprentices on-site, ensuring high-quality workmanship.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in strict compliance with OSHA standards and company safety policies.
- Conduct thorough pressure and quality tests on all installations to minimize deficiencies.
Qualifications & Skills
- Certification: Valid Journeyman Plumbing Certificate / Red Seal Endorsement (or equivalent state licensing).
- Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of post-journeyman experience specifically in multi-residential new construction (e.g., condos, apartments, townhomes).
- Hydronics Expertise: Demonstrated, hands-on experience installing and troubleshooting complex hydronic heating and boiler systems.
- Technical Skills: Proficient in reading blueprints, understanding mechanical codes, and operating trade-specific tools.
- Attributes: Strong problem-solving abilities, physical stamina to handle demanding job-site conditions, and a collaborative, team-first attitude.
- Requirements: Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and pass a standard background check.

Responsibilities:
Lead and supervise a team of Apprentices, providing guidance, support, and training as needed.
Coordinate and oversee plumbing projects from start to finish, ensuring adherence to project schedules and budgets.
Interpret blueprints, specifications, and building codes to plan and execute plumbing installations and repairs.
Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems, including pipes, fixtures, valves, and fittings.
Perform inspections and diagnostics to identify plumbing issues and determine appropriate solutions.
Perform Walkthrough for Inspections with Plumbing inspector & Mechanical consultant.
Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and other tradespeople to ensure effective communication and coordination on job sites.
Order and manage materials, tools, and equipment required for plumbing projects, ensuring availability and proper utilization.
Monitor and enforce compliance with safety regulations and industry standards to maintain a safe work environment.
Conduct regular quality control checks to ensure workmanship meets or exceeds established standards.
Provide exceptional customer service, addressing client concerns and resolving any issues that may arise during plumbing projects.
Maintain accurate records of work performed, including time spent, materials used, and any modifications or changes made.
Keep up-to-date with industry trends, advancements, and best practices in plumbing techniques and technologies.
Requirements:
Journeyman plumber certification or equivalent qualification or Schooling.
Proven experience as a Lead Hand or similar supervisory role in plumbing.
In-depth knowledge of plumbing systems, including installation, repair, and maintenance techniques.
Familiarity with local building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team to achieve project goals.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, capable of liaising with clients, contractors, and team members.
Physical stamina and dexterity to perform manual labor and work in various environments (e.g., confined spaces, heights, etc.).
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Commitment to safety and knowledge of proper safety procedures and practices.
